Stonewall Country returns to celebrate its 25th Anniversary at Theater at Lime Kiln for four performances, July 9th through 12th at 7:30pm. The musical retelling of the life of Stonewall Jackson premiered at Lime Kiln in 1984, with music by Robin and Linda Williams and the book by then artistic director Don Baker. Baker and the Williams duo are helping recreate the piece that put Lime Kiln on the map as a regional theatre.

The Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree is a laid-back, fired-up evening of Iconis tunes, featuring new jams, old faithfuls, and glimpses into the future. Songs of hate and hope, suburbia and pornography, cougars and jailbait, dead people and livin' things, and more sing-alongs than you can shake a glass of whiskey at. Some special guests will join Joe for this, the first leg of his legendary 'Mule Mutation' Tour 2009. So come on down to the Jamboree- it's loud, soft, sweet, nasty, and above all else, bloody as hell. Debut album out later this year.

The Griot Museum of Black History (formerly known as The Blackworld History Museum) will host, ?Carnaval in July,? a free multicultural, family-focused community festival with food, music, dance, arts and crafts on Saturday, July 11, noon-6 p.m. at The Griot. The festival will feature percussionist David A.N. Jackson; African dance by Mama Lisa of Fundisha Enterprises, roots fusion/neo soul by Mario Pascal; Mexican dance by Kids Mex; stilt walkers from the Nan Foule Mask Society, Glenn ?Papa? Wright, Jr., puppetry and storytelling by Glenn ?Papa? Wright; interactive exhibits from the Magic House, face painting, mask making, food, merchant and information booths. The World Bird Sanctuary will bring a variety of birds, some that represent the countries featured in the exhibit. The festival is free; Griot admission is $5 for adults, $4 for youth 13-17 and $2.50 for children 12 and under.
