ABroad Stage Company (ABSCo) is gearing up for its debut performance of Jose Rivera?s new version of his best-known play, ?References To Salvador Dali Make Me Hot,? which originally premiered at The Public Theater in 2000. Directed by Pippin Parker, the play will open on Friday, July 10, at the New School for Drama Theater at 151 Bank Street, in the West Village.

In a two-for-one theater event, Fort Lauderdale?s ArtServe is hosting the one-act plays ?Mr. Charles, currently of Palm Beach? by Paul Rudnick and ?Mexico City? by David Leddick. Both plays will star Mr. Leddick, Merry Jo Cortada and Stefan Pinto. Funny and sad, sexy and sinister, the two plays promise an exhilarating emotional experience for the audience. With plays ricocheting between Palm Beach and Mexico City, this is a completely new adventure for theatergoers. The show is directed by David Kingery and the incidental music is by Andrew Sargent. V.J. Colonna is producing with stage management by Jamie Cooper.

Eight acting conservatory students from Stages Theatre Company (STC) are traveling to Bath, England in July as part of a cultural theatre exchange. In return, 13 acting students and three technical theatre students from the Theatre Royal Bath-Young People's Theatre (TRB YPT), the egg, are traveling to Hopkins in August to perform for audiences at STC.

Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Judith Ivey will portray that great woman of American letters -- letters from readers seeking advice, that is -- when she plays the legendary, trailblazing columnist Ann Landers in David Rambo's play The Lady With All The Answers Off-Broadway this fall, starting performances October 7, 2009 at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) in New York City. B.J. Jones directs. The production will run through November 29. Opening night is October 14.

For the thirteenth consecutive year, the Alley Theatre is providing young playwrights the chance to improve and expand their writing skills with its summer program, Houston Young Playwrights Exchange (HYPE). Six plays by local teens have been selected to undergo development in a professional forum guided by the Alley?s staff, with the program culminating in a three-day public showcase of their work as staged readings ? Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2 on the Neuhaus stage. Some plays contain Adult Language.

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma?s premiere professional theatre company, will open its 2009 summer season of musicals on Thursday, June 25th with the live stage version of Disney?s High School Musical 2, the second installment of the wildly popular movie series about the adventures and friendships of a group of high school students.
