SoHo Rep's Artistic Director Sarah Benson has announced that Sarah Kane's bleak and controversial drama 'Blasted,' which according to The New York Times drew outrage from audiences and critics when it had its premiere in 1995 at the Royal Court Theater Upstairs in London, will make its American debut as the first show in that theater's 2008-9 season. 'Blasted' stars Marin Ireland, Reed Birney and Louis Cancelmi. Previews began October 2nd prior to an official press opening of October 9th at Soho Rep, and runs through October 26. Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson directs.

'Frankie & Johnnie' Star Returns to NYC for New Show 10/13

Don't Tell Mama welcomes West Coast singing sensation Devlin, who returns to New York with her all new show 'The Places You Find Love' on Monday October 13th and Wednesday October 15th at 7PM, plus a special happy hour show on Saturday October 18th at 5PM. This engagement also celebrates Devlin's first CD release, 'Devlin Live In New York.' Devlin is the recipient of the San Diego Playbill.com award for Best Actress in the role of Frankie in 'Frankie and Johnny in The Claire De Lune'.

Two World Premieres Launch Passage Theater's New Season

'13, A New Musical' Featured in Fashion Fantasy Game

'13, A New Musical' will be featured in the Fashion Fantasy Game (www.fashionfantasygame.com), the first virtual world to teach kids about the fashion design business. Starting with a presence on the landing page, players will receive a show synopsis and a special discount ticket opportunity. Players relaxing at the R. Lilly Cafe will hear a sampling of songs from the show on the jukebox and be able to watch the show's promotional video on the movie screen.

She will be sharing a booth with Matinee New York, the premiere source of men's and women's vintage clothing supplied to the film and theater industry, with credits including American Gangster, The Good Shepherd and Factory Girl.

Public Theater Announces Native Theater Festival 11/12

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) is proud to announce the return of the Native Theater Festival, a four day festival dedicated to presenting extraordinary theatrical work by Native theater artists from the U.S. and Canada. Now in its second year, the Native Theater Festival will run November 12 to November 15 at The Public Theater and will feature three free readings of new works by Native playwrights followed by post-show discussions; a concert by Native and African-American singer Martha Redbone; topical field discussions on issues of particular concern to artists in the Native theater community; and a conversation with Oskar Eustis and other artists on politics and performance that will be open to the general public.
