Green Eggs And Ham Sizzles With SEUSSICAL At Thomaston Opera House, Opens 7/25

Even if you?ve never muttered the words, ?I do not like green eggs and ham,? the Thomaston Opera House has cooked up a treat that will certainly appeal to your tastes. A musical extravaganza filled with toe-tapping tunes, Seussical borrows its plot directly from the characters and occurrences in various Dr. Seuss children?s books. In fact, Seussical integrates the storylines from more than 20 of Seuss? works, using each tiny town and bizarre species of creature as inspiration. The result is a production that takes the audience on an unpredictable ride through the depths of fantasy, from the miniature houses of Whoville to the wild greenery of the Jungle of Nool.

Well on July 9th, Plaidheads nation wide gathered to celebrate the screening of one of Off-Broadway's most popular and critically acclaimed musicals, as it made its first appearance on the big screen in the Forever Plaid 20th Anniversary Special event on Thursday, July 9th. Select members from the original ?Forever Plaid?cast with narration provied by David Hyde Pierce for the pre-taped anniversary performance, as they introduce the event live from the red carpet at Los Angeles' Club Nokia to fans in 500 movie theaters across the country and Canada, followed by a specially-taped 20th Anniversary performance of ?Forever Plaid.? Audiences across the country experienced a memorable evening, combining the 20th Anniversary event classic production with new and interactive twists, including a first-ever live, coast-to-coast in-theater sing-a-long with ?The Plaids.?

?Snow Falling on Cedars?, written by David Guterson, adapted for the stage by Kevin McKeon, and directed by Kevin McKeon is set to be presented by Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra (CATS) March 18 - April 10, 2010, at the Nevada Theatre. Auditions for the show will take place on Saturday, October 17, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. Callbacks by invitation: Monday, October 19, 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.. Auditions are set to be hled at the Nevada Theatre, 401 Broad St., Nevada City. Rehearsals will commence on February 8, 2010.

'The Columbine Project' examines exactly what went through the minds of several students including the killers, who at one time, were just normal kids. We follow as the plan is kept secret and as the soon-to-be victims prepare for a future they would never see.

Five-time Grammy-winner Faith Hill makes her Hollywood Bowl debut with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and fellow Grammy-winner, conductor David Campbell, for a special evening of music from the iconic performer?s multi-platinum recording career, Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, at 8:30 p.m. The first half of the concert, performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (HBO), features an unexpected mix of movie scores and other eclectic selections chosen by Campbell and Hill. No strangers to each other, Hill and Campbell?s previous collaborations include her 2002 release, Cry, Christmas CD, Joy to the World, and Hill?s recording of the Oscar-nominated ?There You?ll Be,? from the Pearl Harbor soundtrack, arranged and conducted by Campbell. Baby It's You!, a new musical, will have its world premiere at The Coast Playhouse (8325 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood) with performances from July 18 ? August 30. American Pop Anthology (co-producers of the musical Million Dollar Quartet, still running in Chicago after nine months, and heading for Broadway) will present the new musical written by Colin Escott (Million Dollar Quartet) and Floyd Mutrux (Million Dollar Quartet and the award-winning film American Hot Wax). Directed by Mutrux, Baby It's You! is about the passion and determination of New Jersey housewife Florence Greenberg, who in the 1960?s built one of the most successful-ever independent record companies with such discoveries like The Shirelles and found forbidden love.

The exhibition features new work by the 2008 recipients of the Artadia Awards. Artadia: The Fund for Art and Dialogue offers substantial artist awards in five cities including Houston. The most recent round of Artadia Awardees, who were selected following an open application call to all visual artists living and working in Harris County, include artists working in video, painting, sculpture, site-specific installation, photography, and collage, and represent the range and depth of Houston's creative force.
