The American premiere of John Doyle's Ten Cents a Dance opens today on the Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) Main Stage. The refined production of the new Rodgers and Hart musical, which Doyle first conceived at England's Watermill Theatre, marks the first time a new musical has ever been presented on WTF's Main Stage. Ten Cents a Dance will be the final presentation on the Main Stage for the 2011 Season at WTF, running through August 28, 2011 and opening August 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.Ten Cents a Dance is a co-production with McCarter Theatre Center. Performances at McCarter Theatre Center begin September 9, 2011. This summer, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from Shakespeare in Central Park to Chekhov on the Staten Island Ferry. The directors concluded their class this week by fully producing five new short plays in and under the High Line Park in Manhattan.

On Monday, August 29, 2011, the acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO will welcome Tony Yazbeck to the role of 'that silver-tongued prince of the courtoom,' Billy Flynn.

Rehearsals for the Broadway- bound production of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES starring Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross begin in London this Monday August 22. Directed by Richard Eyre, PRIVATE LIVES will play at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) with previews beginning on Sunday November 6 and opening night set for Thursday November 17. The limited engagement runs through February 5 2012. Prior to Broadway, PRIVATE LIVES will play a limited run at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre.

According to Deadline.com, stage and screen star Jessica Hecht will guest star in the upcoming final season of ABC's 'Desperate Housewives.' Hecht will play 'a love interest for newly separated Tom Scavo (Doug Savant).'

According to EW.com, stage veterna Joey McIntyre will guest star in an October episode of CSI: New York. McIntyre will play 'Ray, a man that ends up in a shooting that involves one of the CSIs.'

The legendary Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley will offer a special Summer Workshop of Song Interpretation and Scene Study beginning September 7. The Fort Worth native will assist aspiring artists, educators and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling.

Tony Award nominee Bobby Cannavale might soon return to Broadway in the Kathleen Marshall-helmed NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, according to the NY Post. Cannavale would join the previously announced Matthew Broderick in the musical, and is currrently taking singing lessons to prepare for the role. No official casting announcement has been made.
