Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Cast members from the Broadway hit SISTER ACT will perform musical numbers from the show at Bloomingdale's 59th street (1000 3rd Ave.) on Thursday, August 25 at 4:30pm as part of the store's 'Fashionable Fundraiser' benefiting The Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR). In addition, Bloomingdale's will host makeovers in the Cosmetics Oval from 3:00-6:00pm. Costumes from SISTER ACT will also be on display exclusively for this event. At both the Bloomingdale's 59th street and Soho location (504 Broadway) shoppers who purchase over $400 in cosmetics and fragrances will receive a pair of tickets to SISTER ACT (while supplies last).

MetLife Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announce the fourth round of recipients for the MetLife/TCG A-ha! Program: Think It, Do It, which supports the creative thinking and action of TCG member theatres with the goal of impacting the larger theatre community. Five theatres were awarded grants, totaling $225,000, to either research and develop new ideas or experiment and implement innovative concepts.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Debbie Allen will direct and guest star in an episode in the upcoming season of 'Grey's Anatomy.' She will play Jackson's mother, Catherine Avery. Allen has already directed three episodes of the show.

This hilarious five-time Tony nominated musical is nothin' but a good time. A New Line Cinema film of the musical, directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray) and starring Tom Cruise, is currently being filmed in Miami, Florida. According to a report by Baz Bamigboye for Daily Mail, SOUTH PACIFIC star Samantha Womack injured two of her toes during 'Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair' at Monday night's preview performance, but performed in last night's opening against doctor's orders. Director Bartlett Sher shared: 'The doctors pumped her full of steroids and bound her foot . She went on in the finest showbusiness tradition that the show always goes on.'

New York City Center will reopen following the historic restoration and modernization of its landmarked building with its eighth annual Fall for Dance Festival, running October 27 - November 6, 2011. In keeping with its commitment to make dance accessible to everyone, all tickets will be $10, as they have been each year since the Festival's beginning. The two-week Festival will showcase 20 national and international companies and choreographers and will include company debuts and premieres in five programs (each program will be repeated once). Tickets will go on sale Sunday, October 2 at 11 a.m.
