The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) is pleased to announce that its hit production, THE DONKEY SHOW, is celebrating is second birthday at OBERON on Saturday, August 27th. Performances are at 7:30pm and 10:30pm. As a special birthday treat, a limited number of $2 dance floor tickets will be offered for all performances in August. $2 tickets will be on sale on Tuesday of each week before the show!

The segment will air live in the 12:00pm half hour.

TRACES, the acclaimed show by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, has opened at New York's Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) to rave reviews and is now selling tickets through January 1, 2012. TRACES began previews on Friday, July 29th and officially opened Monday, August 8th.

Choreographer Josh Bergasse is choreographing the new Steven Spielberg produced drama series 'Smash' on NBC, scheduled to debut in February of 2012. Starring, Will and Grace alumnus Debra Messing, Shakespearean actress Anjelica Huston, singer/actress Katharine McPhee and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy star Jack Davenport, 'Smash' follows the story of the making of a fictional stage show, 'Marilyn: The Musical,' about the life of Marilyn Monroe. 'Smash' will air on Mondays at 10 pm.

The University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences Center for the Humanities announces that Nilo Cruz will be the first Stanford Distinguished Professor in the 2011-2012 academic year. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz will present 'Theatre Accompanied by Light: Searching for Poetry in the Theatre' on Thursday, September 15th at 7:00 pm in the Storer Auditorium on the Coral Gables campus at the University of Miami.

Today the American Foundation for Equal Rights in partnership with Broadway Impact announce initial casting for the highly anticipated one night only Broadway staged reading of '8,' a new play chronicling the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8. The play is written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and will be directed by two-time Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello.

Following the announcement in the Summer of 2011 that Dress Circle may be faced with closer for financial reasons, STANDING OVATION was produced by Danny Davies of Pirate Management over the month that followed. Comprising works from artists and songwriters who share in the concerns for Dress Circle`s future, this CD is a tribute to the shop, and it is hoped that it may contribute in some way to the positive future. He'll play 'a liberal, ex-hippie type who marches to a different drummer. He'll preside over a case Alicia (Julianna Margulies) is working on with a sharp eye, but rather laid-back speech.'

DreamArts, the charity which creates opportunities for young people across inner London to learn through the creative arts, will celebrate ten years of its New Musicals programme with seven special performances of CARNIVAL - THE MUSICAL.

Daniel Radcliffe stars in the upcoming film, 'The Woman in Black,' based on Susan Hill's novel of the same name. The Woman in Black film adaptation was overseen by Jane Goldman.
