Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Reprise Theatre Company is cancelling the upcoming production of "The Baker's Wife," scheduled to run February 14 to 26, the second show of the 2011-2012 season. "The Apple Tree," the third show of the 2011-2012 season will be performed April 17 to 29 as originally announced. Subscribers and other tickets holders are currently being contacted to arrange refunds or donate the "The Baker's Wife" portion of season tickets.

On December 5th Emily Bergl, star of Broadway, films and 'Desperate Housewives,' will release a live album of her hit Oak Room performance. 'Emily Bergl Live at the Algonquin: Kidding on the Square' will be available on Amazon and iTunes, and commemorated with a special CD release party at the Oak Room. 'Kidding on the Square' was originally recorded during a sold out run, which received raves from audiences and critics. Stephen Holden of the NY Times described Ms. Bergl as 'incandescent...a gust of fresh air that could knock you off your feet,' and Will Friedwald of the Wall Street Journal declared that 'in her major-league nightclub debut, Ms. Bergl has hit a home run.' By popular demand, Ms. Bergl will reprise the show on Monday nights, December 5th though the 19th. A limited number of tickets are available for the official CD Release Show on December 5th.

This holiday season, the award-winning Peccadillo Theater Company is presenting Moss Hart & George S. Kaufman's THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER starring Jim Brochu as SheriDan Whiteside and Tony Award-winner Cady Huffman as Lorraine Sheldon. This marks the Off-Broadway debut of the classic American comedy. Performances began November 25th and the Opening is this Sunday, December 4th at Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street (between Ninth & Tenth Aves.)

JERSEY BOYS First National Tour cast members Preston Truman Boyd, Joseph Leo Bwarie, John Gardiner, and Michael Lomenda will perform a special holiday selection during the pre-show of the 89th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Thursday, December 1, beginning at 4:30 p.m ET. Presented by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, the ceremony will take place on the Ellipse in President's Park in Washington, D.C., and will be streamed live at www.thenationaltree.org. The event will also be broadcast throughout December on PBS stations nationwide. Check local listings for full broadcast schedule.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Tony Award-winner Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden) will join returning cast members Myra Lucretia Taylor (Wicked; Nine), Sonia Manzano (Maria on "Sesame Street") and Loretta Swit ('Hot Lips Houlihan' on "M*A*S*H") for the December cast of the Off Broadway hit Love, Loss, and What I Wore beginning Wednesday, December 7, 2011 (through Friday, December 30) at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street). Following their Off Broadway run, the cast will launch the show's first national tour, which begins in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Mesa Arts Center (January 2 - 8, 2012). The current touring schedule includes:

Following a triumphant opening at the Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical has extended its booking period. Tickets are now on sale up to, and including, 21 October 2012. The new stage musical, which has captured the imagination of young and old alike, transferred to the West End on Tuesday 25 October 2011.
