Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Theatre503, London's foremost new writer's theatre, has announced their new season of work starting from 3 January 2012. Highlights include: the European premiere of Man in the Middle, which caused a sensation when it premiered under the title Stainless Steel Rat in Sydney earlier this year about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange;Man in the Middle by Australian playwright Ron Elisha is a co-production between Theatre503 and Cheepuk, running from 10 January to 3 February. Looking at the many faces and fallouts of 'the most dangerous man in the world', Man in the Middle is a Wikiplay that has been sourced from the public domain, and then refracted, redacted and reimagined by the Playwright. Directed by Lucy Skilbeck and starring original Australian cast member Darren Weller as Julian Assange, it tells the story of a man who sought to out the truth at any cost.

In observance of World AIDS Day (Thursday, December 1) the Theater District Shake Shack will offer 'The Red Ribbon,' a special concrete with all proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 'The Red Ribbon' features Shake Shack's dense vanilla frozen custard blended with strawberry & marshmallow sauce, crispy wafers and topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. 'The Red Ribbon' is available only on World AIDS Day (the second year).

Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables) will headline the December 18th at 3pm and December 30th at 9pm performances of JACQUES BREL RETURNS...The Music of Brel, Blau, Shuman and Jouannest. Joining Cuccioli on December 18th will be Jim Stanek (Lestat, Little Women, …Forum), Arlo Hill (Where's Charley? At Encores! directed by John Doyle), Rick Hip-Flores (who has performed in the pits of Billy Elliot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and Ereni Sevasti (The Bacchae at The Public, Carnival at The Kennedy Center), and joining him on December 30th will be Rick Hip-Flores, Ereni Sevasti and PJ Baccari. Rick Hip-Flores will also serve as musical director for both performances.

GRAMMY Sunday reigns as Music's Biggest Night, but a very close second is 'The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!!' - an event that blends one-of-a-kind, GRAMMY-worthy performances with the official announcement of the songs, albums and artists that are in the running for music's greatest golden honor. For the fourth consecutive year, the nominations special was broadcast live on CBS, but a houseful of lucky attendees got to witness the unique spectacle in person on Nov. 30 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
