The legendary Liza Minnelli will once again perform at the LVH - Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (formerly Las Vegas Hilton) May 12 in the LVH Theater. One of America's true legends, Liza Minnelli, winner of four Tony awards, an Oscar, a special "Legends" Grammy, two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy is one of the world's consummate performers. In film, on stage and in television, Liza has won critical acclaim, a multitude of fans, and recognition from her peers in show business, giving new dimension and credibility to the word "superstar."

Happy Birthday, Elaine Paige! Paige was selected to play Eva Perón in the first production of Evita in 1978, which brought her to the attention of the broader public. She went on to originate the role of Grizabella in Cats and had a Top 10 hit with 'Memory', a song from the show. She then appeared in the original stage production of Chess, followed by a starring role in Anything Goes which she also co-produced. Paige made her Broadway debut in Sunset Boulevard in 1996, playing the lead role of Norma Desmond, to critical acclaim. She appeared in The King and I from 2000 to 2001, and six years later she returned to the West End stage in The Drowsy Chaperone. Most recently, she starred in Follies on Broadway.

The Smith Center's Opening Celebration will take place Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 7:00pm. Actor Neil Patrick Harris will host the celebration which will feature performances by Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson; country artists Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Martina McBride; singer songwriter Carol King; trumpeter Arturo Sandoval; violinist Joshua Bell; gospel great Mavis Staples; Train lead singer Pat Monahan; and American Ballet Theater dancers Marcello Gomes and Luciana Paris.

Ivy (Megan Hilty) is under pressure to perform, while her mother, Broadway star Leigh Conroy (special guest Bernadette Peters), undermines her at every turn. Karen (Katharine McPhee) must decide between the workshop and a meeting with a big-time music producer. Julia (Debra Messing) and Michael (guest star Will Chase) must face up to the consequences of their actions.'

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), today announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo present the New York premiere of An Iliad, by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, based on Homer's Iliad translated by Robert Fagles, directed by Ms. Peterson. Performances began on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Mr. O'Hare and Stephen Spinella will alternate performances of the play. Opening nights are Tuesday, March 6, 2012 (Mr. O'Hare) and Wednesday, March 7, 2012 (Mr. Spinella). Check out a preview below!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Zachary Quinto will join previously announced Jessica Lange in the second season of FX's 'American Horror Story.'

Thought of by many as the biggest flop in Broadway history, Carrie opened at the Virginia Theatre on May 12, 1988 only to close three days later. The cult-classic has found a second life at the Lucile Lortel Theatre however, where it just opened last night for a new generation of theatre-goers.

According to the Associated Press, ex-Spidey director Julie Taymor claimed in court today that she was a 'victim of a conspiracy to unfairly push her out of the production.' Tayor's lawyers argued that the SPIDER-MAN producers 'were secretly conspiring to oust Taymor and use and change her work without pay.'

A limited number of $40 rush tickets to the star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS 7 will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 5, 2012. The rush tickets will be sold outside the Al Hirschfeld Theater (302 West 45th Street) and will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

Celebrity judges for the sixth annual The Broadway Beauty Pageant have been announced. Jackie Hoffman (The Addams Family), pop culture columnist Michael Musto, and Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change) have been tapped to judge the event which will take place on Monday evening, March 19th, at 8p.m. at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th St.). The popular event is the annual benefit of New York's Ali Forney Center.

Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers stars in the Alhambra's next performance, Hello, Dolly! Ms. Struthers, who rise to acting fame began with the hit TV show All in the Family, is making her first appearance at the Alhambra and joins a growing list of stars that has recently included Jamie Farr, Barry Williams and Loretta Switt. First produced on Broadway in 1964, winning ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hello, Dolly just opened at the Alhambra on February 29. Check out photos of Struthers in action below!

Atlantic Theater Company will present their annual Spring Gala Bring It On Home on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers - a fantastic evening of soul music celebrating the upcoming re-opening of the company's beautifully renovated Linda Gross main stage theater.

According to an audition listing, a new musical inspired by the work of Tupac Shakur, titled HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, is aiming to open on Broadway in the near future. Kenny Leon will direct a developmental lab, which is set to take place April 23 - May 11, 2012 in New York City.
