NBC has just announced that it has picked up the new series RISE- previously titled DRAMA HIGH.

Earlier this week Dear Evan Hansen earned a whopping nine Tony nominations, including a nod for Best Musical. Now the show is thanking its many fans with a special compilation of the musical's anthem, 'Waving Through a Window.'

As previously announced, award-winning music superstar Lady Gaga is set to star opposite four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper ('American Sniper,' 'American Hustle,' 'Silver Linings Playbook') in a remake of the iconic musical drama A STAR IS BORN. The film, scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 28, 2018 will also be helmed by Cooper, who will be making his directorial debut.

As described by Gavin Creel himself, this Hello, Dolly! is a 'musical theatre miracle.' Equally miraculous is his performance as Cornelius Hackl, which just earned him a Tony nomination for Featured Actor in a Musical. Theatre for a New Audience presents the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Happy Days. Two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets over Broadway) plays Winnie, widely considered modern drama's pinnacle female role, alongside Jarlath Conroy, who plays Willie, directed by Yale Repertory Theatre Artistic Director James Bundy.

The National Theatre's 2017 revival of Tony Kushner's landmark work Angels in America just opened in London, starring Stuart Angell, Mark Arnold, Arun Blair-Mangat, Susan Brown, Laura Caldow, Andrew Garfield, Denise Gough, Kate Harper, John Hastings, Claire Lambert, Nathan Lane, Amanda Lawrence, James McArdle, Becky Namgauds, Mateo Oxley, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Russell Tovey, Paksie Vernon, Stan West and Lewis Wilkins.

After critically acclaimed and award winning productions in Seattle, New Jersey and Boston the new musical, ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME, will officially open on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rdStreet). This strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, June 11th only.

Earlier this week, Stephanie J. Block picked up her second Tony nomination (the first was in 2013 for The Mystery of Edwin Drood) for her portrayal of Trina in Falsettos. Producers IMG Original Content and Carole Shorenstein Hays (Fences, Caroline or Change,Doubt, Take Me Out, Fun Home, A Doll's House, Part 2) announced just yesterday that Academy Award-winning filmmaker, best-selling author, and political icon, Michael Moore will bring his thought-provoking, controversial fare to Broadway in The Terms of My Surrender, his theatrical debut.

 After 12 days filled with world premiere film and television screenings, cutting-edge virtual reality experiences, the inaugural Tribeca Games Festival, momentous talks, and once-in-a-lifetime concerts and reunions, the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced an estimated attendance of more than 153,000 people to 531 screenings and talks, the virtual arcade, and games with an additional 3,800,000 people participating in 15 talks and post-film conversations from afar via Facebook Live. [Note: This is record-setting from recent years and surpasses last year's attendance, even though in 2016 there were 556 screenings and one of the main theaters being used in 2017 had its seats reconfigured to enhance the audience's movie-going experience, which resulted in 25% less total seating capacity.]

Back in October, COME FROM AWAY honored the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador and the 'come from aways' whose lives inspired the new musical with two special benefit concert performances at Gander's hockey arena, The Steele Community Centre. 

Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones and the cast of Dear Evan Hansen parodied their show's anthem 'You Will Be Found' with the tale of a lonesome Easter egg, hidden and never found after this year's egg hunt. The egg finds solace in the accepting arms of the Broadway community, with special nods to a dozen current shows.
