Few things have been as highly anticipated as the national tour of the sweeping hit Hamilton, and now the show has officially kicked off in San Francisco.

The Broadway-bound, world premiere engagement of SOUSATZKA, with book by Craig Lucas, music by David Shire, and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., based on the original novel 'Madame Sousatzka' by Bernice Rubens, opens tonight in Toronto. Directed by Adrian Noble and choreographed by Graciela Daniele, the production stars Victoria Clark, Montego Glover, Judy Kaye and Jordan Barrow.

Multi platinum-selling Grammy and Tony nominated singer-songwriter and New York Times best-selling author Sara Bareilles, who composed the music and lyrics for the hit Broadway show Waitress, will make her Broadway acting debut on March 31 in the lead role of Jenna Hunterson for a limited engagement of 10 weeks, through June 11, 2017. Joining her are TV star Chris Diamantopoulos as Dr. Pomatter, who inspires the expert pie-maker to create an 'I Wanna Play Doctor with my Gynecologist' pie, and beloved Broadway leading man and Tony Award nominee Will Swenson as Earl, Jenna's ne'er-do-well husband.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has a lot to celebrate, with four shows currently running on Broadway- The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock, Cats and Sunset Boulevard. Today also happens to be the legendary composer's birthday, and cast members from every one of his shows gathered to sing him a special birthday message!

Next up at Encores! is a lost gem- The New Yorkers, Cole Porter's 1930 Prohibition lark. The New Yorkers will star Cyrille Aimée, Clyde Alves, Todd Buonopane, Arnie Burton, Kevin Chamberlin, Mylinda Hull, Robyn Hurder, Byron Jennings, Eddie Korbich, Tam Mutu, Jeffrey Schecter, Scarlett Strallen, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Ruth Williamson.

Cirque du Soleil Theatrical's smash production of Cirque du Soleil Paramour, the organization's first created specifically for Broadway is in its final weeks on Broadway. As previously announced, Paramour is playing through April 16, 2017 at theLyric Theatre (213 West 42nd Street).

Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Jay Armstrong Johnson came together in a giddy, delightful duet of "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from The Sound of Music. The pair gleefully gallivanted across the stage as a confident Johnson wooed the naive, innocent Keenan-Bolger through a charmingly updated romp through the classic.

Broadway Backwards on March, 13, 2017, where men sing songs intended for women and vice versa without changing pronouns, shattered fundraising records, bringing in an impressive $522,870 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City.

While the cast was on a break during tech, they joined together for an epic jam session and gave 'How I Saved Roosevelt' a pop update. Check it out below!

Roundabout Theatre Company presents Mark Ruffalo, Tony Shalhoub, Jessica Hecht and Danny DeVito in a new Broadway production of Arthur Miller's The Price, directed by Steppenwolf Theatre Company co-founder, Terry Kinney.Arthur Miller's The Price opens officially tonight, March 16, 2017. At Broadway Backwards 2017, Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo brought the house down with a gospel-infused rendition of "Make Them Hear You" from Ragtime. Her powerful, show-stopping vocals, backed by the Broadway Backwards ensemble, had the audience on its feet cheering for more in a fitting finale to this year's show.

At last night's Broadway Backwards, Santino Fontana (Cinderella the Musical, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Frozen) taunted the wintry conditions in the Northeast by performing 'Let It Go' from Frozen. Fontana voiced Hans in the film, but was thrilled to perform a gender-reversed rendition of Elsa's snowy showstopper at the event. It's safe to say the cold never bothered him, anyway

The third annual Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools took place yesterday at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, hosted by Okieriete 'Oak' Onaodowan. More than 100 talented students from five New York City high schools across the city made their Broadway debuts performing from their selected winter musicals or plays.
