The Abreact presents Samuel Beckett's Endgame. Originally published in 1957, "Endgame" is considered one of Samuel Beckett's most important works. In a tiny house by the sea with nothing left outside - no sea, no sun, no clouds - live the mutually dependent protagonists Hamm, an aged blind master who cannot stand, and Clov, his servant who cannot sit. Their days playing out like the end of a chess match, they fight, flatter, thrust and parry, Clov always trying to withdraw from the game, while Hamm insists on finishing the matter once and for all.

Nova D Arts Collective, Danse4Nia Repertory Ensemble, Company Theatre, and GoKash Productions present "The Boy Who Sees" by Davon Williams, winner of three Philadelphia Urban Theater Festival awards and starring Kash Goins, Erica Brown, Hasan Malik, Andre Brown, and Brett Gray. Jesimiel Jenkins directs. Choreographer: A.C. Gilmore choreographs. The show plays April 11th - April 29th at First Philadelphia Charter School.

Choreographer/dancer and Artistic Director Esmeralda Enrique of Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company celebrates 30 years in Canada with the world premiere Aguas / Waters featuring Juan Ogalla of Spain who received the 2011 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance for his stellar performance in last season's Espejo de Oro / Mirror of Gold. NEWSADOOZIES: A Man-Eating Musical, a new musical parody of the cult movie/Broadway musical Newsies, continues its standing-room-only run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 307 West 26th Street (west of 8th Ave). Showtimes are: Friday, April 6th @ 7:30PM and Wednesday, April 25th @ 8:00PM. The Court Theatre's season of CALENDAR GIRLS has added an additional show to accomodate demand. With the remaining season of CALENDAR GIRLS rapidly selling out, a matinee performance of the the British comedy has been added at 2pm Saturday 14 April.

Before "Rent"-there was "La Boheme"-and now it's back for the kick-off of Pacific Symphony's new opera-vocal initiative, "Symphonic Voices." For three nights, the orchestra comes out of the pit and onto the stage for the presentation of one of Puccini's most popular and heartbreaking operas. Led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, "La Boheme's" timeless tale of carefree Bohemians and star-struck lovers features a cast of world-class opera singers, Pacific Chorale and the Southern California Children's Chorus-filling the stage with their astonishing voices. Inspired by St.Clair's successful career as an opera conductor in Europe, "Symphonic Voices" continues next season with another Puccini masterpiece of high emotion, grand tragedy and gorgeous music: "Tosca."

Newsies opened March 29th, at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre for a limited run following its critically-hailed stint at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. The musical, featuring a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein, played its first Broadway preview on March 15th; the final performance is scheduled for August 19th. Newsies, produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, is directed by Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. Check out the new trailer for the show below!

Broadway star Patti LuPone and actress Anna Chlumsky will guest star on the television series Army Wives, TV Fanatics reports. LuPone will appear on the Lifetime show as a captain in the Army's Intelligence Division, while Chlumsky will play an Army wife whose husband is injured in Afghanistan.

When LAUSD teacher and playwright Alan Aymie was given his second pink slip from the school district that he had worked for since 1998, and later 'graded' by the LA Times, he decided it was time to use his writing to provide a voice for the teaching professional. While painting a portrait of the daily challenges that teachers face in Los Angeles, Aymie also takes a look at his own experiences of trying to teach his son who was recently assessed with Asperger's Syndrome.

Closing Aurora's 20th season is the World Premiere of SALOMANIA, Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Tom Ross's first new play commission for the company, written and directed by award-winning Bay Area auteur Mark Jackson (Metamorphosis, Salome, Miss Julie).

The Trustus Black Box Theatre has been transformed into an intimate hotel room that's ready to set the stage for a gun-toting comedic adventure as Martin McDonagh's A Behanding in Spokane comes to the Midlands. The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix presents the World Premiere of Sakura no Ne (Root of the Cherry Tree). This stage production brings to life the story of two everyday kids and their unexpected relationship with an older Japanese gentleman gardener at The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix. Initially viewed as an unwelcome introduction to Japanese arts,c ulture and activities in Arizona, the kids find themselves willingly learning the importance of understanding the difference between self-confidence and selfishness.

Due to popular demand, the Castillo Theatre is re-opening Sally and Tom (The American Way), seven performances have been added: April 20, 21, 28, 29; May 4, 5, 6. Fred Newman and Annie Roboff's musical revival, Sally and Tom (The American Way) examines the 30-year relationship between Thomas Jefferson and his slave Sally Hemings, a relationship that produced six children and embodies the wrenching conflict between democracy and slavery, and its legacy of racism that continues to shape America to this day. In this polarizing presidential election year, the meaning of "the American way" is itself being hotly contested.

Berkeley Playhouse closes its 2011-12 season with an adaptation of ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Willy Wonka, owner of a magical and mysterious chocolate factory, excels at making candy. He is ready to retire, however, and sets out on a quest to find a "bright spark," an honest and worthy heir to continue his candy confectioning.

From the mind of Dezy Walls, aka The Pianobike Kid, comes "The Anythingers," a musical playing from April 7 to 14.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) announces complete casting for the World Premiere of RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award winner Gina Gionfriddo (Becky Shaw). Directed by Peter DuBois (Becky Shaw, Sons of the Prophet, Measure for Pleasure, Jack Goes Boating, Artistic Director of Huntington Theatre Company), the production will begin previews Friday, May 18 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, June 12 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday, June 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater.
