Join Carswell Berlin, private antiques dealer and expert in early 19th century American furniture, as he surveys the stylistic changes and features that characterize Phyfe's work over the course of a 50-year career. Mr. Berlin is a lender to the current Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition, Duncan Phyfe: Master Cabinetmaker in New York, where furniture from his collection dominates two of the three principal galleries of the exhibition. Several other pieces are illustrated in the exhibition catalog. On display at the Merchant's House is a set of 12 Duncan Phyfe side chairs, circa 1835, purchased by the Tredwells when they moved to East 4th Street.

Ocean Professional Theatre Company announces its Premiere Professional Season 2012 at the Beautiful new State of the Art Bengal Auditorium, 180 Bengal Drive in Barnegat, NJ, 08005. Casting has been confirmed for Little Radical Theatrics' latest offering, the New York Regional Premiere of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, which is slated to play a limited engagement (May 25-June 2, 2012) at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre in Mamaroneck. The 'provocative, scathing and topical satire with wild and zany humor' will be helmed by LRT artistic director Michael Mirra, with musical direction by Ricky Romano, and original choreography by Jessica Bittner.

Presented in collaboration with the represented country's consulates general and cultural institutions, the International Voices Project will celebrate the voices of international playwrights with eight premiere concert-style readings of selected plays that will be performed by a professional cast with stage directions read to allow audiences imaginations to create the world of the play. After each reading, there will be a post-performance discussion with the cast and audience, followed by a reception hosted by the consulates.

Building on the success of the first Professional Series in its new, state-of-the-art facility, StarStruck Theatre announces its upcoming Student Series production of RENT: School Edition. Music Theatre International (MTI) granted StarStruck the privilege of producing the World Premiere of RENT: School Edition in 2007, and now the musical that changed Broadway is coming back to the Treasure Coast. It will play StarStruck Theatre April 20-29.

The Carolina Actors Studio Theatre (CAST) in Charlotte, North Carolina will present the regional premiere of FLOYD COLLINS April 12-May 12, 2012. The musical by playwright Tina Landau and composer Adam Guettel is based on the true story of the heroic, but ultimately unsuccessful, struggle to free explorer Floyd Collins from a Kentucky cave in 1925. The tragedy was covered by newspapers throughout the United States for two weeks, and drew thousands of spectators to the remote rescue site, making it one of the most sensational news events of the early 20th century and inspiring one of the most unusual stage productions ever written.

Stone Soup celebrates the XX chromosome for the second year in a row with work written and directed exclusively by women from the Seattle area and beyond! Performances will mainly take place at Stone Soup's DownStage theatre on Stone Way, with a few pre-festival readings (April 16-18) at Fremont/Wallingford establishments White Rabbit, Via Tribunali and Rogue and Peasant.

Varla Jean Merman aka Jeffery Roberson will play the title role in Menotti's THE MEDIUM at The Art House directed by Donna Drake. Elizabeth Hastings who has conducted for both New York City Opera and College Light Opera on Cape Cod will music direct. The cast also includes Stefanie Izzo as Monica, Edmund Bagnell as Toby, Shannon Carson as Mrs. Gobineau, Peter Kendall Clark as Mr. Gobineau and Maria Elena Armijo as Mrs. Nolan. The Glenn Miller Orchestra is known for both concert and swing dance engagements. Formed by popular demand in 1956, the band has been touring consistently, playing an average of 300 live dates a year around the globe to millions of fans.
