The new Enrico Caruso Room will feature a weekly Tuesday Night Opera Series starting April 17, showcasing a pair of talented professional opera performers each week, and a weekly Thursday Night Open Mic Series starting April 26, where singers will perform two musical pieces each. The singers on both nights will be supported by David Schaeffer on keyboard.

Black Ensemble Theater announces the World Premiere of The Marvin Gaye Story (Don't Talk About My Father Because God Is My Friend), written, produced and directed by Black Ensemble Theater Founder and CEO Jackie Taylor. The Marvin Gaye Story will be presented at the new Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center from May 11 to July 29, 2012.

DEF LEPPARD drummer Rick Allen announces his debut fine art collection titled, 'Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change'. The collection will release Wednesday, April 18 exclusively at RickAllenArt.com. Allen worked with L.A. creativity house SceneFour to translate rhythm into visual art. The result is a collection of abstract imagery built directly from the artists'rhythmic prowess.

The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon's popular preschool music group and stars of the hit TV series of the same name, are adding a second leg (50 cities, 70 performances) to their current sold-out nationwide concert tour. More than 200,000 fans will have seen the live show by the end of the first run making it one of this year's most successful music tours. After a brief break from the road, the tour will resume Aug. 23 in Melbourne, Fla. The band will travel to theaters and amphitheaters across the country including New York City's Beacon Theater, Los Angeles' Nokia Theater L.A. LIVE, Atlanta's Fox Theater, the Chicago Theater, Vienna's Wolftrap, The Great Allentown Fair and the historic Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company will close its season with Dark of the Moon, by Howard Richardson and William Berney, April 13 - 22, 2012 at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. In a career spanning three decades, the American choreographer Karole Armitage has continuously bridged contemporary ballet with the worlds of visual art and fashion. Luminaries such as Jeff Koons, David Salle, Philip Taaffe and Brice Marden have created sets and costumes for her dances. She is described as 'pioneering in her valorization of voguing, creating the video for Madonna's 'Vogue' in 1992 and serving on the jury of many of New York's underground voguing balls, elaborate early 1980s events in which 'walkers' competed in a series of categories emulating high fashion, style or a ways of being.'

Storyteller Jonathan Kruk will tackle a Washington Irving classic in a new Historic Hudson Valley event this April: Irving's 'Rip Van Winkle.'

The Scooty & JoJo Show returns to Metro on June 1, 2012, with the benefit concert Space Invasion. Expanding last year's Alien-meets-Queen-meets-Battlestar Fantastica spectacles with Chicago's newest choir and an inter-species dance party, Space Invasion is a celebration of sci-fi cinema and space rock. The New Victory Theater and Children's Museum of Manhattan Announce "Jump & Thump" inspired by Ahhh HA! at The New Victory Theater. "Jump & Thump," a workshop for families that explores character creation through physical theater, a little acrobatics and movement, is inspired by Ahhh HA!, the newest show at The New Victory. Featuring a provocative blend of dance, acrobatics, aerial work, humor and original music, Ahhh HA! runs at The New Victory Theater from March 30 through April 14.
