David Zwirner will participate in this year's Art Cologne (Hall 11.3, Aisle B-018) to be held at the Cologne Exhibition Center (Koelnmesse). David Zwirner will be showing a range of work, with a focus on German artists, including gallery artists Isa Genzken, Neo Rauch, Daniel Richter, and Thomas Ruff. The Frankfurt-based artist Michael Riedel will be in attendance and debut new works: a continuation of his Poster Paintings and Powerpoint Paintings in the medium of silkscreens on honeycomb panels.

SculptureCenter, in collaboration with the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School, continues the artist-led lecture series Subjective Histories of Sculpture. This program, initiated in 2006, furthers SculptureCenter's exploration of how contemporary artists think about sculpture; its history and its legacies. This year, three artists have been invited to present their own take on art history: Lucy Skaer, Nairy Baghramian, and Josephine Meckseper. Citing specific works, bodies of work, texts, or even personal anecdotes taken from inside and outside cultural production, and inside and outside art, these subjective, incomplete, partial, or otherwise eclectic histories question assumptions and propose alternative methods for understanding sculpture's evolving strategies.

Disney's newest musical stage show called Wishes debuted on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship, following a trio of graduating high school students on a magical ride through Disney animated films. Kent Tritle and John D. Goodwin, co-chairs of the New York Choral Consortium announced a second annual city-wide choral festival to celebrate the abundance and variety of choral music in New York. The aim of the festival is to bring a greater awareness of the choral art in our city. The Festival begins with a Choral Kick-Off on April 15 featuring performances by members choruses at St Ignatius Antioch and St Luke in the Fields from 2:00-5:00 pm. The Festival will run from April 15 through June 15, 2012, and encompasses performances by more than 40 New York City choral groups.

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced an additional extension of its New York premiere production of THE BIG MEAL, a new play by Dan LeFranc. Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, April 8, the production initially extended two weeks to Sunday, April 22. THE BIG MEAL will now extend an additional week through Sunday, April 29 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

Amphibian Stage Productions will open its first main stage production of the year, Mr. & Mrs. Fitch, written by Douglas Carter Beane, on Thursday, April 12. Artistic Director Sean Murray is proud to announce Cygnet Theatre's second World Premiere production - acclaimed local writer Richard Platt's RIPPLES FROM WALDEN POND - An Evening with Henry David Thoreau. This production, which began as a staged-reading in collaboration with Write Out Loud, will once again feature Cygnet Resident Artist Francis Gercke as Thoureau, and will be directed by Eric Poppick. RIPPLES FROM WALDEN POND will run for four performances only, April 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th at 7:30pm. All four performances will take place at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town State Historic Park.

Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award-winning actress Cynthia Nixon will join soprano Lisa Delan and pianist Kristin Pankonin in an evening that features Gordon Getty's The White Election, a song cycle based on the poetry of Emily Dickinson. Ms. Nixon will read selections from Emily Dickinson's letters. The event will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at The Stanley H. The Guthrie Theater has announced a new tour of its CostumeRentals facility showcasing costumes and accessories from many periods of the theater's long history. Guides will accompany guests on this approximately 40-minute tour, describing the craft of costume production, including specific costumes from past shows.

The Brick is extending its annual Summer Theme Festival Series with DEMOCRACY, a summer theater festival of the people, by the people, and for the people. Throughout the month of June, 8 candidates will campaign against each other through a series of Public Appearances (i.e., performances) for the title of President of The Brick. The elected official will be given reign over The Brick for two weeks during January 2013, and will be in charge of curating all programming during this time period. The Presidential election will be held live at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Ave | Brooklyn NY) on Sunday, July 1. All voters must cast their ballot in person.
