Two-time Tony Award nominee, Helen Mirren, is set to star in the motion picture, 'Arthur', alongside Russell Brand. The British actress will play a valet in this 1981 comedy remake. In the Oscar Award-Winning film, Arthur is a drunk, clueless man waiting to receive a large sum of inheritance money.

On May 1st and 2nd, the Staten Island Children's Museum will celebrate Cinco de Mayo by hosting Tin Art Workshops. Kids will get the chance to make Mexican art by attending the workshops at 1, 2 or 3pm. Kids will create traditional Mexican embossed & colored tin decorations with artist Janice Patrignani. Cinco de Mayo commemorates a Mexican army's victory over a better equipped & twice as large French force at the battle of Puebla. Tin art is a type of Folk Art created by Mexican artists which involves embossing metals to create a work of art. The works are often enhanced with jewels, tiles or paints. In addition to the workshops, regular museum exhibits will be available as well.

Crash Landing Theatre has announced four of five shows for the 2010/11 season. The shows include the Chicago Premiere of AT HOME AT THE ZOO, TREE, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JAMES; and the World Premiere of THE BOYS ROOM. Performance dates have not yet been released.

Comix NY has released new dates for performances including: Donald Glover (rebooked from previous date) of NBC's "Community" on May 21-22; Actor, author & comedian Jay Mohr on May 11; Anjelah Johnson ("Bon Qui Qui" of MAD TV) on May 7-8; and Greg Giraldo on May 13.

The Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center announced an expanded season of productions, artists, local discoveries, and new film and performance series. The summer pre-season begins on June 17 with the new musical, DADDY LONG LEGS. The official season kicks off October 7- 9, with an opening weekend of performances and events featuring jazz star, Esperanza Spalding; classical cellist, Lynn Harrell; and folk singer, Judy Collins.

On April 22, 2010, Water Works Theatre company was awarded awarded its largest single grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). This $7500 grant will enable Water Works to continue to its professional theatre programs.

The exhibition is FREE and open to DE NOVO ticket holders. The play, written and directed by Jeffrey Solomon, was part of the American Off-Broadway festival.Donna DeCesare will also be participating in a post-show Talk Back with the cast and creative team following the matinee performance on Sunday, May 2 at 3:30 PM. SHE LOVES ME, the musical comedy currently playing at Westport Country Playhouse, has extended their run thru Saturday May 15. Originally scheduled to end May 8, the four additional performances will be May 13-14 at 8 pm, and May 15 at 4 and 8 pm.

The Minnesota State Arts Board and Minnesota's Regional Arts Councils, in partnership with Springboard for the Arts and Creative Capital, are underwriting a pilot artist development project. The project, entitled, 'Springboard's Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists', will offer professional development workshops and education opportunities statewide for all artists. Additionally, Creative Capital will present one-day intensives on strategic planning, public relations, funding your work, and the Internet.
