Equity actors for roles in THE WIZARD OF OZ (see breakdown). Actors of all genders, abilities, ethnicities, and ages are encouraged to audition. As the audience enters, they are greeted by a Depression-era cowboy band and whisked away into a reinvention of The Wizard of Oz, the most beloved story of all time, staged immersively and in the round. Audience members of all ages will find themselves engaged in the storytelling that reminds us: there is no place like home.
Please prepare a brief cut of a song from the show or in the style of the show that showcases your vocal range. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

In-person callbacks will be held in Austin on February 11th, 2025. NYC callbacks will be held on February 18th, 2025. Rehearsals begin July 18th, 2025. Performances begin August 13th, 2025 and close September 21st, 2025 with a possible extension through September 28th. Planned six to seven shows per week: Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30 PM and some Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 2:30 PM.
If you are unable to attend in person, video submissions will be accepted through February 3rd, 2025 (see breakdown for details). An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

DOROTHY GALE - Female identifying, plays 13-18. Mezzo/Mix. Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and strong-willed. She’s in search of ‘home’, a place where she is seen and heard. A strong singer with a love for dogs.
SCARECROW/HUNK - Any Gender Identity, 20s - 30s. Strong Baritone to F. Scarecrow is plucky, clever, and loyal. Has a sincere quality. A strong mover and dancer. NOTE: Stunt/acrobatic skills are required.
TINMAN/HICKORY - Any Gender Identity, 20s - 40s. Strong Baritone/Tenor to G. Desperate for a heart, Tin Man is a tender-hearted romantic. A strong singer and dancer with the ability to move in a stylized way. NOTE: Tap skills are required.
COWARDLY LION/ZEKE - Any Gender Identity, 20s - 40s. Strong Baritone to F. Lion is a mix of bravado and cowardice in search of courage. A strong singer, who moves well, and has excellent comic timing.
GLINDA/AUNT EM - Female identifying, 30s - 50s. Mezzo Soprano. Aunt Em is a hardworking farmer who is firm and no-nonsense, yet caring. Glinda is the Witch of the North who governs Munchkinland and provides guidance to Dorothy as she navigates Oz. Glinda is benevolent, beloved, and brazenly defies the Wicked Witch’s curses.
OZ GUARD/UNCLE HENRY/ENSEMBLE - Male identifying, 30s - 50s. Baritone. Kansas farmer whose wife, Em, runs things. The Oz Guard is bossy yet gets flustered easily, showing his softer side. Has strong comic timing.
WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST/MISS GULCH - Female identifying, 30s - 50s. Miss Gulch is a well-off, cold-hearted neighbor of Dorothy who hates Toto. The Wicked Witch of the West is crafty, vain, and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Has excellent comedic timing and a killer cackle.
PROFESSOR MARVEL/WIZARD OF OZ - Any Gender Identity, 30s - 60s. The Professor is a traveling salesman who tells fortunes - a con artist with a good heart. Eccentric and odd, and ultimately a parental figure.
CHORUS / ENSEMBLE - The ensemble plays a multitude of roles including Flying Monkeys, Winkies, Crows, Apple Trees, Ozians, etc. There will be a few ensemble tracks that will include aerial skills. Aerialists are encouraged to submit.
