Brava! for Women in the Arts celebrates the completion of its first theatrical season under the new direction of Artistic Director, Raelle Myrick-Hodges, with a special end of the year event. ?Seven plays in Seven months. Someone once asked Frank Sinatra how he became so successful. His response: ?Sing good songs!? Thanks to his skilled vocals and gift as a storyteller, Sinatra turned the good songs he sang into timeless treasures. Nearly 60 of those songs can be heard during the musical revue My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra that runs July 7 ? August 23 at The Laguna Playhouse. The show is directed by David Grapes, who conceived the revue along with Todd Olson.

It is the year 6000. All organic life has been destroyed except for a handful of humans. The world is ruled by ultra-sexy Robots who are mysterious, immortal, and ultra-sexy. Humans want to be like them, and this is sad. Some humans dress up like Robots, and some humans would give anything to become one. Half twisted comedy and half science-fiction fantasia, this new play is filled with desire, betrayal and ultra-sexy Robot dance.

Miracle Theatre Group, the Northwest's premier Latino arts and culture organization, will hold its general auditions on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Milagro Theatre (525 SE Stark St., Portland). Olga Sanchez, one of the company?s two artistic directors, says the theatre this year is particularly interested in seeing actors who sing and who can speak some Spanish, since most of the work in the nonprofit theatre?s 2009-2010 season taps those talents. Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has awarded $2.18 million in grants to Maricopa County nonprofits, including Arizona Theatre Company. Thanks to this grant, Arizona Theatre Company will purchase and implement an integrated customer relationship management software system to better serve its patrons in Arizona. Other plans include website development and hardware upgrades.
