Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Ben Stiller, a former SNL cast member, returns to studio 8H for his second time as host on October 8. Throughout his accomplished career, Stiller has written, starred in, directed, and produced over 50 films, and will next be seen in the feature film, 'Tower Heist,' due out November 4.

The Town Hall, New York's landmark theatre and concert venue, has announced the critically acclaimed Seventh Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival October 16th, October 22nd and October 28th. Broadway Originals!, Elaine Stritch At The Town Hall, and A Tribute To Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, will be presented in a new format of three consecutive weeks. The festival is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel.

A new version of A Little Princess, the beloved children's book from 1905 written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, will premiere at the Texas Music Theatre on the historic San Marcos square from October 16th - 19th. The final performance of this special event will be live streamed on the internet on October 19th. This will allow musical theater fans across the country to experience this new musical according to director and star Kaitlin Hopkins who also heads the Musical Theatre Program at Texas State University.

As previously reported, Damian McGinty, one of the season one THE GLEE PROJECT winners, will play an Irish exchange studunt this fall. According to TVGuide.com, McGinty willl star as 'Rory Flanagan' for at least seven episodes. McGinty commented: 'I am having the time of my life. Rory is living with Brittany [Heather Morris], who thinks he is her own personal leprechaun only she can see.'

Sacramento regional community theater's actors, producers, directors, designers, dancers, choreographers, and playwrights were honored last night at the 29th Annual Elly Awards at the Crest Theatre. Named for Eleanor McClatchy, a devoted patron of the arts and former publisher of the Sacramento Bee, the Elly Awards celebrates excellence in Sacramento regional community theater. A grand total of 81 Elly Awards were given to individuals and theaters from across a 10-county region. Sponsored by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), this semi-formal event was attended by over 800 active community theatre members and their families and friends.

PAGE 73 PRODUCTIONS (Liz Jones & Asher Richelli, Executive Directors) will present the New York premiere of Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's Lidless, recipient of a 'Fringe First' at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and winner of the 2009 Yale Drama Series Award and the Keene Prize for Literature (from the University of Texas, Austin). This Off-Broadway limited engagement at WalkerSpace (46 Walker Street) begins Tuesday, September 20th and continues through Saturday, October 15th only. Opening Night is set for Wednesday, September 28th.

The production runs October 2, 21, 22, and 27 at 7:30pm at the A.R.T.'s Zero Church Street Performance Space, corner of Church Street and Mass. Ave, Harvard Square, Cambridge.
