Direct from the North American tour of MARY POPPINS, Steffanie Leigh made her Broadway debut in the title role last night, October 11 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly, The West End's original MARY POPPINS, played her final performance on Broadway Sunday, October 9. According to People.com, Broadway veteran Clay Aiken will participate in the upcoming season of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' Also rumored to join him are 80's star Debbie Gibson and reality star Teresa Giudice.

The Washington, D.C., return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons is playing the National Theatre November 10, 2011, to January 7, 2012. The cast of JERSEY BOYS will be led by Preston Truman Boyd (Bob Gaudio), Joseph Leo Bwarie (returning to D.C. as Frankie Valli), John Gardiner (Tommy DeVito), and Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi) and as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Washington-area native, Joseph Siravo.

It's one of the most well-known stories of all time, and according to USA Today, Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' is getting yet another make-over. Comic book legend Stan Lee is busy recreating the classic tale in the form of a graphic novel, which will be released on November 30.

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel has a diverse career on stage and in film, television, and music. In 2009 Ms. Menzel co- starred with Josh Groban in the concert version of Chess: The Musical, recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall and broadcast on PBS. In December 2005 she completed her role as the misunderstood Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked, for which she received a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award nomination. She is currently starring as Rachel Berry's biological mother, Shelby Corcoran on GLEE. Menzel recently visited the UK's 'This Week,' where she treated viewers to a performance of 'The Way We Were.' Four Things Productions announced today a special one-night-only staged reading of Matthew Lombardo's (High, Looped) one-woman show, Tea at Five, starring the one and only Charles Busch (The Divine Sister, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) as Katharine Hepburn. The evening, directed by Rob Ruggiero (High, Looped) is set for Monday, November 28th, 2011 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), and will benefit The Ali Forney Center. Daryl Roth and Carl Siciliano (Executive Director, The Ali Forney Center) will introduce the event.

In addition to hosting this year's Oscars and being set to appear in the upcoming Batman: The Dark Night sequel, Anne Hathaway's film credits include 'The Princess Diaries,' 'Brokeback Mountain,' 'The Devil Wears Prada,' 'Becoming Jane,' 'Alice in Wonderland,' and 'Rachel Getting Married,' for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Hathaway played Viola in Shakespeare in the Park's 2009 production of TWELFTH NIGHT. She also appeared as Lili in CARNIVAL! at Encores, and was in some of the workshops for last season's PROMISES, PROMISES. The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical! have announced complete casting for the 2011 holiday season tour. Broadway favorite Karen Mason (Wonderland, Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard) will play school teacher Miss Shields in an ensemble that includes John Francis Babbo, Jonathan Burke, Andrew Cristi, Sally Elting, Nick Gaswirth, Nicholas Gonzales, Casey Gorab, Drea Gordon, Leslie Henstock, Carl Kimbrough, Sean Mcknight, Mara Newbery, Lyn Philistine, Charlie Plummer, Alex Puette, Johnny Rabe, Kayla Rea, Emily Rudolph, Jake Bennett Siegfried, Marguerite Willbanks, George Andrew Wolff, Kirsten Wyatt and Adam Pelty (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Steel Pier) will play Santa.

According to the Guardian, Barney Wragg has been appointed to head the music operations division of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group. The former EMI executive will lead half of the now split company, which now consists of the 'theatre unit' and the music/copyrights/licensing unit.

For its 22nd season, Signature Theatre is celebrating their signature composer Stephen Sondheim by presenting his very first musical, Saturday Night (1953) as a concert event for four performances only on Saturday, October 29th (2pm and 8pm) and Sunday, October 30th (2pm and 7pm). This rarely performed hidden gem from America's foremost musical theater composer features a book by Julius and Philip Epstein, with music and lyrics - unperformed in full until 1997 - by Sondheim. This special limited engagement will be directed by Signature's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Side by Side by Sondheim, The Hollow) and the Music Director is Jon Kalbfleisch. Limited seating is still available, with single ticket prices at $41 each. Saturday Night will play in Signature's MAX Theatre.

In honor of its 8th Anniversary on Broadway, the blockbuster musical Wicked will host a month-long roster of activities and promotions throughout the month of October, culminating on 'Wicked Day,' Sunday, October 30, with a special, one-time only 'Ultimate Encore Performance.'

The multi-talented Tim McGraw might soon be heading to the Great White Way if he gets his way. McGraw recently told Hollywoodlife: 'I love New York. I would love to be in New York and do Broadway.' He continued: 'I don't know if I want to sing. But I would love to do a drama. That would be fun.'

It was announced last week that the Broadway-bound production of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, which played a record-breaking, sold out engagement at the American Repertory Theater, will play a 26-week limited run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street, between 8th Avenue and Broadway). Hundreds of middle school students across the country are taking a pledge to be a 'respectful and positive person', to recognize that 'each person is unique,' to 'be more accepting' of people 'and make no snap judgments about them'. And stars of Broadway's family-favorite musical The Addams Family will headline a live national Internet broadcast to 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade classrooms that will encourage and promote students to take the 'No Snap Judgments' pledge. The event takes place on Thursday, October 13th from 11:30AM - 12Noon EDT.
