Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly, The West End's original MARY POPPINS, played her final performance on Broadway Sunday, October 9. Tony Award winner Idina Menzel has a diverse career on stage and in film, television, and music. In 2009 Ms. Menzel co- starred with Josh Groban in the concert version of Chess: The Musical, recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall and broadcast on PBS. In December 2005 she completed her role as the misunderstood Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked, for which she received a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award nomination. She is currently starring as Rachel Berry's biological mother, Shelby Corcoran on GLEE. Menzel recently visited the UK's 'This Week,' where she treated viewers to a performance of 'The Way We Were.' Four Things Productions announced today a special one-night-only staged reading of Matthew Lombardo's (High, Looped) one-woman show, Tea at Five, starring the one and only Charles Busch (The Divine Sister, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) as Katharine Hepburn. The evening, directed by Rob Ruggiero (High, Looped) is set for Monday, November 28th, 2011 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), and will benefit The Ali Forney Center. Daryl Roth and Carl Siciliano (Executive Director, The Ali Forney Center) will introduce the event.

Hathaway played Viola in Shakespeare in the Park's 2009 production of TWELFTH NIGHT. For its 22nd season, Signature Theatre is celebrating their signature composer Stephen Sondheim by presenting his very first musical, Saturday Night (1953) as a concert event for four performances only on Saturday, October 29th (2pm and 8pm) and Sunday, October 30th (2pm and 7pm). This rarely performed hidden gem from America's foremost musical theater composer features a book by Julius and Philip Epstein, with music and lyrics - unperformed in full until 1997 - by Sondheim. This special limited engagement will be directed by Signature's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Side by Side by Sondheim, The Hollow) and the Music Director is Jon Kalbfleisch. Limited seating is still available, with single ticket prices at $41 each. Saturday Night will play in Signature's MAX Theatre.

Hundreds of middle school students across the country are taking a pledge to be a 'respectful and positive person', to recognize that 'each person is unique,' to 'be more accepting' of people 'and make no snap judgments about them'. And stars of Broadway's family-favorite musical The Addams Family will headline a live national Internet broadcast to 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade classrooms that will encourage and promote students to take the 'No Snap Judgments' pledge. The event takes place on Thursday, October 13th from 11:30AM - 12Noon EDT.
