According to NY Magazine, author Nicholas Sparks recently revealed in an interview that a stage adaptation of his 1996 novel, 'The Notebook' is in the works. The musical is currently in development with no official opening set yet. Casting has not yet been announced.

'Fela!,' the 2010 Best Musical Tony Award-nominated musical, opened last night, December 14th, at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. Classic Stage Company's acclaimed, sold-out production of Anton Chekhov's tragicomic masterpiece THE CHERRY ORCHARD, featuring John Turturro and Dianne Wiest, among an esteemed cast, will extend by one additional week through Sunday, January 8. THE CHERRY ORCHARD is directed by Andrei Belgrader, with a translation by John Christopher Jones.

GOP candidate Mitt Romney, who is currently busy preparing for the 2012 election and also happens to be a Mormon, recently told the New York Times that he wants to see Broadway's THE BOOK OF MORMON. Romney told NYT: "I actually encouraged the guys that did that play, 'The Book of Mormon,' because I thought that'd be really helpful." He continued, "I do want to see it, sure," he said. "It's a Tony-award winner, big phenomenon - yeah, I want to see it someday. But I don't have a lot of time for Broadway shows."
