Tony Award winner Alice Ripley will conclude her solo concert series titled Alice Ripley's Daily Practice on December 16 at 10:30pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, a cabaret space downstairs at West Bank Cafe. The concerts feature what's being billed as an eclectic mix of well known songs and new compositions.

Olympic gymnast Cathy Rigby visited the Empire State Buildings 86th floor Observatory on Monday, December 12, to celebrate opening week of Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan. Cathy Rigby will once again take flight in her Tony nominated/Emmy Award winning role as the boy who won't grow up at The Theater at Madison Square Garden for a 2-week engagement.

REBECCA, based on the classic novel by Daphne Du Maurier novel, will open on Broadway Sunday, April 22 at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. The show jusr opened in Stauttgart, and you can check out performance highlights by clicking below!

After Romney challenged Perry to a $10,000 bet during Saturday night's debate when the Texas governor accused Romney of once advocating for using Massachusetts' health care mandate as a national model, pianist/composer Scott Bradlee teamed up with Lauren Molina (SWEENEY TODD, ROCK OF AGES, CANDIDE) and David Garry (COMPANY, SWEENEY TODD, ROAD SHOW) to recreate the debate as an opera.

La Cage Aux Folles, starring film and TV actor George Hamilton and two-time Tony Award nominee and Christopher Sieber, is on tour and is currently playing at Boston's Citi Performaning Arts Center. Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, this flashy comedy made Tony Awards history as the first show ever to win the Tony Award three times for best production. This morning on 'Live! with Kelly' guest David Hyde Pierce announced that IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, a show that he directed this Fall at George Street Playhouse, will arrive on Broadway in Fall 2012. The New Jersey production starred Lisa Howard, Tom Deckman, Mylinda Hull, Tyne Daly, Richard Kline, Jessica Hershberg, and more. No official announcement has been made concerning casting or an opening date.

Following on from Sunday in the Park with George, Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, A Little Night Music and Sweet Charity, the Menier Chocolate Factory is currently presenting Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson's Pippin. Pippin began previews on Tuesday, 22 November, opened officially last night, 7 December, and will run through 25 February, 2012. Buzz about West End and Broadway transfers of the production has already begun, with Stephen Schwartz fully supportive of both ideas.

Goodspeed Musicals delves into the sultry and shadowy world of 1940s film noir with their clever production of CITY OF ANGELS. Promising lots of laughs and plenty of jazzy tunes, this witty musical comedy ran through November 27 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Earlier this week, La Jolla Playhouse announced a casting update for its current presentation of the acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival production of Jesus Christ Superstar, lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, directed by Playhouse Director Emeritus and Stratford Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Des McAnuff. Beginning Wednesday, December 7, Broadway veteran Tom Hewitt (Playhouse's Zhivago and Dracula: The Musical) will perform the role of Pontius Pilate for a limited engagement at the Playhouse. Whether Hewitt will remain in the production through the Broadway transfer remains unknown, but Stratford Shakespeare Festival has released the following statement:

Back by 'Popular' demand, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, WICKED will return to its Los Angeles home, the Pantages Theatre, for a strictly-limited engagement this holiday season running November 30, 2011 - January 29, 2012. When it first played the Pantages in 2005, it broke box office records and sold out in record time. WICKED returned two years later to begin an extended engagement that would go on to run two years, becoming one of the longest-running Broadway musicals in L.A. history.

Kevin Cahoon (The Wedding Singer, The Foreigner), Jennifer Regan (Born Yesterday) and Marnie Schulenburg (24-hour Musical) join two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Catch Me If You Can) and Emmy and Independent Spirit Award nominee Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight, Grey's Anatomy) in Second Stage Theatre's upcoming production of Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE.

Gold (Camille Claudel) is a musical with a book and lyrics by Nan Knighton and music by Frank Wildhorn, their second musical. It is based on the life of the real-life French sculptor and graphic artist of the same name. The show just opened in Japan, and you can check out a sneak peek below!

Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will close its 2012 season with two shows being added to the series: a second show by the legendary Elaine Paige on February 12th and a second show by Broadway star Laura Benanti on February 11th. Paige has a previously announced show on February 10th at 8:30pm. Paige's new show is on Sunday, February 12th at 6:30pm. Benanti's previously announced show is at 8:30pm on February 11th. Benanti's new second show is also on February 11th, at 10:30pm. Tickets for these two shows go on sale today.
