Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Elton/Leon Release 'If it Waasn't for Bad', 8/24

Decca Records is pleased to announce the single release of 'If It Wasn't for Bad,' available August 24th on iTunes and all digital retailers. The highly anticipated single is the first to be made available from The Union, the collaborative album with Elton John and Leon Russell to be released October 19th in the U.S. on Decca (October 25th in the U.K. on Mercury Records.) The album marks the first time these iconic artists have worked together since 1970.

Ashbery to be Honored at Brooklyn Book Festival, 9/11

On Sunday, September 12, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, the Brooklyn Literary Council and Brooklyn Tourism will host the fifth annual Brooklyn Book Festival. Each year, the Brooklyn Book Festival 'BoBi' award is given to an author who has made a broad impact on the field of literature. This year's recipient is John Ashbery, who will be honored at the Brooklyn Book Festival Gala Mingle on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The award was established in the Festival's second year. Previous BoBi recipients are Edwidge Danticat (2009), Walter Mosley (2008) and Paul Auster (2007). Ashbery will also participate in this year's Festival program, in an on-stage conversation with Paul Auster, Sunday, September 12.

Included in this episode, Fantasia will address the most recent events in her life in an interview that was taped on Saturday, August 21. Narrated by Jim Forbes, this 'Behind The Music' will give viewers an inside look into the personal and professional life of one of music's greatest vocalists. Cotuit Center for the Arts Holds Open Auditions

The Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for Dark of the Moon, to run October 7-24, 2010. Dark of the Moon is a drama with music set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, based on a variant of 'The Ballad of Barbara Allen', with witches, conjurers, and God-fearing folk. Director Mary Arnault will be casting roles for all ages. Singers, dancers and musicians encouraged. Cotuit Center for the Arts is located at 4404 Falmouth Rd (Route 28) in Cotuit.

IAP Presents BRANDYWINE DISTILLARY FIRE, 9/9-18

Brandywine Distillery Fire began as an attempt to destroy storytelling or an attempt to tell story in the way that Jackson Pollack paints landscapes. Playmakers Michael Gardner and Matthew Freeman (creators of When is A Clock and Notes from Underground) conjectured that to develop a theater work in the 'wrongest' way possible might be a liberating experience for artists and audiences alike. They proceeded with a series of workshops. In the workshops, they led a process of improvising a play from scratch. And failing. Deliberately. And writing it down. And failing further.

Tim Robbins' new play Break the Whip is set to premiere at The Ivy Substation in Culver City. The show will be produced by the Actor's Gang, which was co-founded by Robbins. catsing has not yet een announced, but performances will begin on September 2.The play revolves around struggles of the three cultures of the Jamestown Colony- English settlers, African slaves, and Powatan Indians.
