Court Theatre opens its 56th season with William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, directed by Sean Graney. The production will run September 16 - October 17, 2010 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. Press opening is Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 8:00PM.

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts has announced a change in the lineup for the Saturday, September 25th concert, part of its 30th Anniversary Season.

The Guthrie Theater's production of Tennessee Williams' iconic American play A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by John Miller-Stephany, is now in its final two weeks of performances in Minneapolis. Film and television actress Gretchen Egolf leads the cast in a critically acclaimed portrayal of Blanche DuBois. 'Desperate Housewives' star Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Stanley Kowalski), New York actor Brian Keane (Harold 'Mitch' Mitchell) and Twin Cities mainstay Stacia Rice (Stella Kowalski) join Egolf in the production, heralded by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as 'one of those more-or-less definitive productions that people will remember for some time to come.'

According to a report by Whatsonstage.com, Sally Dexter is set to replace Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Superior in the West End production of SISTER ACT. Dexter will be staying with the show until it closes on October 30.

New York: TV's Geraldine Librandi (Patty Leotardo in 'The Sopranos') and Reiko Aylesworth ('24' and 'DAMAGES') will lead the cast of the edgy and poignant new play LOST AND FOUND written by John Pollono, directed by Andrew Block, as part of the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival. LOST AND FOUND will begin performances on August 16 - 27 at NYC's Cherry Pit Theatre (155 Bank Street).

Tony Award winner Lea Salonga is set to perform the National Anthem and at the 7th Inning Stretch for the San Diego Padres game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, August 28th for Filipino Cultural Night. The game will be broadcast on FOX.

Soon New Yorkers will be surprised to find a troupe of bikers, armed with noisy horns and bright flags, handing out rolls of free and original art, fresh out of a gallery. This guerilla-distribution of art will mark the end of this year's PaperGirl-NY. The art will be distributed after hanging in galleries in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Albany from August 24 to September 6.

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has awarded Arizona Theatre Company and Actors Theatre of Phoenix a $150,000 grant over a two year time period. This grant will allow these professional theatre companies to explore possible collaborations, either artistically, administratively or both, to better fulfill the missions of both organizations. La Piana Consulting from Emeryville, CA will be helping through these investigations, explorations, discussions and possible implementation.

The Fountain Theatre has announced a second and final extension for the Los Angeles premiere of Opus by Michael Hollinger through September 26. Opus has been enjoying sold out houses and solid word-of-mouth since if first opened last June to rave reviews, but must make way for the opening of the U.S. premiere of Athol Fugard's newest play, The Train Driver, on October 16. Opus is a smart, funny and insightful portrait of the fictional Lazara String Quartet. As the foursome prepares for a high profile performance at the White House, tensions mount and personalities clash. When their brilliant, but unstable, violist disappears, the others must seek someone new to perform with them. Nashville Ballet single tickets for the 25th Anniversary Season will be available Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The Ballet will offer some of the most requested productions for a full year of ballet favorites.
