Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!

Sparks to Return to IN THE HEIGHTS 9/2

Broadwayworld.com as confirmed that Jordin Sparks is expected to return to Broadway's IN THE HEIGHTS on September 2. As reported previously, Sparks suffered a hip injury during Act 1 of the August 28 performance and has been sitting out since.

New Contestants Announced for 'Dancing with the Stars'

The new 'Dancing with the Stars' contestants have been announced by ABC, and the list includes: Brandy, Florence Henderson, Jennifer Grey, Bristol Palin, Margaret Cho, Audrina Patridge, Michael Bolton, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, David Hasselhoff, NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, and Disney channel's Kyle Massey and Rick Fox. The Fall 2010 season of 'Dancing with the Stars' premieres MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

FROG KISS Premieres at NYMF, 9/30-10/11

FROG KISS will be giving a full production (musicians, set, costumes, choreography, etc.) for 6 performances at the Theatre at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street. The performances will be on non-consecutive days and at varying times beginning on September 30 and ending on October 11. Tickets are approximately $20, and will go on sale Wednesday, September 1. The cast and creative team includes a number of professionals with substantial Broadway credits.

Izzard Set for 'United States of Tara'

According to a report by Deadline.com, Eddie Izzard, who recently starred in the Broadway production of Race, is set to join the third season of Showtime's 'United Sates of Tara'. Though details on his character remain unknown, Izzard will appear in more than one episode.

Emmy Telecast Earns Nielson Honors

NBC's telecast of 'The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Awards' has scored the highest adult 18-49 rating, excluding sports, for any telecast on any network since the 'Glee' season finale June 8, and the biggest overall viewer total for any non-sports telecast since the 'American Idol' season finale May 26, according to preliminary time zone-adjusted 'fast national' 'live plus same day' viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

United Solo Festival Presents EAT PRAY LAUGH, 11/13

Amid a flurry of parodies of the recent movie release of Elizabeth Gilbert's 'Eat, Pray, Love' one notable piece stands out. It is the work of comedian Alicia Dattner, and it a much more comical take on traveling to find oneself, but also a poignant one. After a knockout world premiere at the San Francisco Fringe last year, 'Eat, Pray Laugh!' blows into New York's United Solo Festival on November 13, 2010. Dattner, winner of the SF Fringe's 'Best Female Solo Act' & 'Best of the Fringe', brings her award-winning solo show 'Eat, Pray, Laugh!' to NY fresh off an 18-week, thrice-extended run of the show in SF and a world tour with stops in London, Mumbai, and Hollywood, which featured live pre-show kirtan chanting and authentic India chai and prasad (sweets).

CMOM Announces Labor Day Activities

Tovey Leads CANDIDE at Hollywood Bowl, 9/2

Principal Guest Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl Bramwell Tovey leads the orchestra in a concert version of Bernstein's comic operetta Candide, Thursday, September 2, at 8 p.m. The all-star roster of soloists in the production includes: Alek Shrader, as Candide, Anna Christy, as Cunegonde, Richard Suart as Pangloss/Martin, and Frederica von Stade, as Old Lady.

Ruckus' New Season Begins with ALL SAINTS DAY, 9/2

The Ruckus Theater is making some noise again with its upcoming Season 2 opener: All Saints' Day: 44 Plays About Jeffrey Jones by Ron Riekki, directed by Brian Ruby. A trio of Ruckus newcomers-Chicago actors Elizabeth Babgy, Kevin Crispin and Matthew Humphrey-star in this new play recounting a series of Halloween encounters. On the heels of a successful first season in Chicago, and having sold out nearly every performance of Heist Play, Tell It & Speak It & Think It & Breathe It, The Gay American and Escape from the Haltsburg Boys Choir, The Ruckus doubles the number of performances for each play in the 2010/2011 season, for a total of four weekends. The Ruckus also hosts a special performance of New York City band Not Blood Paint, featuring Ruckuser Seth Miller on Sunday, September 5 following that evening's 7:30pm performance.
