Dention Community Theatre announces auditions for THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, which will be held July 12th and 13th starting at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre, located at 214 W. Hickory Street in downtown Denton. Callbacks will be held July 14, if needed. The Denton Community Theatre production is directed by Michael Bolen. Auditions are open - no appointments and will consist of Cold Readings from the script and Improvisation. The style is that of Comedy of Manners and the setting is London and its suburbs in 1895. An upper class British dialect will be required of the actors. Head shots and resumes are helpful, but not necessary.

LaFabbrica, in association with East River Commedia, Centro Internazionale La Cometa, and The Italian Cultural Institute, present WAITING FOR NIL as part of the 4th Annual Undergroundzero Festival. Parks & Recreation present 'Before They Were Parks,' an exhibit featuring more than 100 vintage and contemporary photographs from the New York City Parks Photo Archive and other collections. The exhibit depicts the often surprising pre-park existence of some the city's most cherished public places. The exhibition is curated by Jonathan Kuhn, Parks' Director of Art & Antiquities.

Twentieth Century Fox Television will once again dominate the San Diego Comic-Con convention, with stars and creators of eleven of its signature shows heading down to the world famous fan gathering next month. The stars and creators of Fox's shows, such as 'Glee' and 'Futurama,' will provide exclusive sneak peeks of its programs as well as have panel discussions.

Nickelodeon closed the week (6/14/10-6/20/10) as basic cable's number-one network in total day with kids 2-11(3.5/1.2 million), kids 6-11 (3.4/748,000), and total viewers (2.3 million). Nick's weekly win was driven by a premiere of Big Time Rush (Friday, June 18, 8 p.m. ET/PT), which drew 3.2 million total viewers and averaged a 5.2/1.9 million K2-11, 0.3/1.4 million K6-11, 4.6/1.0 million.

McKenzie Fine Art (511 West 25th Street) announces its summer group exhibition called 'Reader's Delight.' It features painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper by the following artists: Richard Baker, Mary Ellen Bartley, Erica Baum, Tom Burckhardt, Matthew Higgs, Maira Kalman, Jean Lowe, Martin McMurray, Abelardo Morell, Yohei Nishimura, Mamiko Otsubo, Donna Ruff, and Mickey Smith. The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 24th with a reception for the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. and runs through Friday, August 6, 2010.

The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center present Ralph Harris and his one-man show, MANish BOY, from June 22nd to the 27th. The show will be held at the Booth Playhouse at 130 North Tryon St. Tickets start at $24.50 with performances at 7:30 pm on Tuesday through Thursday, at 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 3:00 pm on Sunday.

ABC Family Premieres, 'Huge,' on Monday, June 28th, at 9 pm ET/P starring Nikki Blonsky from the movie adaptation of HAIRSPRAY. This new series is being developed by Winnie Holzman ('Wicked,' 'My So-Called Life,' 'Once & Again') and her daughter Savannah Dooley.

The first annual Warwick Jazz Festival will take place from August 26th to the 29th. This event, conceived and produced by local jazz musician Steve Rubin, in cooperation with venues presenting live music, the village of Warwick and local business will be an extension of a vibrant local jazz culture.

The California Theatre of the Performing Arts (563 West 4th St., San Bernardino) presents MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL from July 20th to the 25th. There are evening performances at 8 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and matinee performances at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range between $38.50 and $77.50. According to reports on EW.com and confirmed on her official website, Filipino singer, Charice, will guest star in the second season of Fox's hit show, 'Glee.' Reports say that the 18 year old will play a foreign exchange student who will be rivals with Lea Michele's Rachel Berry.

Joe's Pub announces their line-up from July 16th to the 19th. Performances include a reading of AMANDINE, performances from Christina Courtine, David Raleigh, Angla Di Carlo, Diblo Dibala, Spencer Day, and a showing of RYAN O'CONNER EATS HIS FEELINGS. Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street.

GLAAD hosts an evening at LA CAGE AUX FOLLES with discounted tickets to GLAAD supporters for the June 24th's performance. Ten percent of the ticket sales benefit GLAAD. The seats are limited and advanced ticket purchase is required. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES recently won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

The Town Hall Theatre opens its Expand Your Mind summer film series with 'A Hard Day's Night.' It will run on the big screen on Sunday, June 27 at 7:00 pm, with an introductory talk at 6:30 pm. The Old Globe announces their schedule for July through October. It includes the conclusion of the 2010 Shakespeare Festival, the world premiere of ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS, the west coast premiere of THE LAST ROMANCE and WELCOME TO ARROYO'S, and Neil Simon's plays, BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS and BROADWAY BOUND. There also will be several educational programs for children.

The Palace Youth Theatre (80 Hanover Street, Manchester) announces that it will be starting its youth theater season early beginning with open auditions for CATS on June 21 and June 22 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Beginning Friday, June 18, a new block of tickets will be on sale for performances through January 2, 2011, of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the Tony-nominated musical inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together legendary rock ‘n' roll icons Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.
