ABT Promotes Hee Seo to Soloist

The American Ballet Theatre announces that Hee Seo will be promoted to the rank of Soloist, effectively August 2010. Seo joined the ABT Studio Company (now ABT II) in 2004. She was named an apprentice with the main Company in May 2005 and promoted to the corps de ballet in March 2006.

Angela Brown Performs 'Opera from a Sistah's Point of View' at Indiana University, 7/30

Internationally known opera star Angela Brown, who honed her craft at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, is on a mission: the down-to-earth soprano with the voice of an angel seeks to bring opera to the masses. Brown will return to Bloomington for a July 30, 8 p.m. performance of her witty solo show, 'Opera from a Sistah's Point of View,' at the Musical Arts Center. Cliff Jackson will accompany her on piano.

USA Network Acquires Rights to 'Modern Family'

USA Network has reached an agreement with Twentieth Television, acquiring the exclusive syndication rights to the critically acclaimed ratings hit MODERN FAMILY. The announcement was made today by Jane Blaney, USA's executive vice president, programming, acquisitions and scheduling and Steve MacDonald, EVP, General Sales Manager, Basic Cable of Twentieth Television. Under the agreement, USA will strip the series Monday through Sunday beginning Fall 2013.
