Totem Pole Playhouse Sells Historical Playhouse Seats at Auction, 4/17

For its 60th anniversary season, the Totem Pole Playhouse (9555 Golf Course Road, Fayetteville) will get new seats and in turn, sells its 1920 era seats on April 17th. A donation of $25 is being asked for a historical seat. They will be sold between the hours of 10 AM and 1 PM. Seats are disassembled and must be removed on Saturday. In addition to the new seats, the restrooms are being revamped.

New York Gallery Week Launches Annual Event 5/7-10

New York Gallery Week, a new initiative organized collectively by 50 Manhattan-based contemporary art galleries and 7 not- for-profits - spanning Chelsea, SoHo, the Lower East Side/Bowery, the Upper East Side, and 57th Street - will launch its pilot program in May 2010. New York Gallery Week (NYGW) will be an annual event, concentrating on programmatic and artistic rigor, with a mission that aims to ignite the New York art scene and direct focus back to artists and galleries.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's only producer of professional Broadway musical revivals, announces Bringing Broadway Home, a spectacular benefit concert on Monday, June 21st at 8 PM in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. This one-night-only event will celebrate 27 seasons of Broadway at North Carolina Theatre and will feature Clay Aiken, Lauren Kennedy, Sharon Lawrence, Terrence Mann and Quiana Parler.

FROGZ opened at the New Victory Theater on Broadway in New York, in April of 2000 and returned to the New Victory in May 2002. The Target Margin Theater Presents THE REALLY BIG ONCE Premiere 4/13 - 5/8

Target Margin Theater (David Herskovits, Artistic Director), in association with the Ontological-Hysteric Incubator (Richard Forman, Artistic Director), has announced full casting for the world premiere of The Really Big Once, a new play, created by the company, that tells the story of two theatrical giants, Elia Kazan and Tennessee Williams, and how they changed American culture. Under the direction of David Herskovits, the five-member cast features McKenna Kerrigan, John Kurzynowski, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Hubert Point-Du Jour, and Steven Rattazzi. Performances begin Tuesday, April 13, 2010 for a limited engagement through May 8, 2010 at The Ontological Theater at St. Mark's Church (131 East 10th Street at Second Avenue). Opening Night is Saturday evening, April 17th at 8:00 p.m.
