Farmington Players Open RABBIT HOLE, 2/15January 30, 2013In playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole, opening February 15th at the Farmington Players Barn Theater, a couple struggles to put their lives back together after the accidental death of their child. Laurel Stroud of Redford Township plays Becca and Jay McNeil of West Bloomfield plays her husband Howie. As they battle to return to "normal" and reunite as a couple, each copes with the tragedy in very different and often conflicting ways. This contrast is most stark in the way each relates to Jason (played by Joel Hunter of Commerce Twp.), the young man who accidentally killed their son.

Theatre Aspen Completes Capital CampaignJanuary 30, 2013Theatre Aspen today announced the completion of their two-year, $2MM capital campaign, which supported the building of the new Hurst Theatre and lobby, and significant upgrades to the grounds. This work was undertaken in partnership with the Aspen City Parks Department, as part of a larger renovation to the John Denver Sanctuary in the Rio Grande Park, within which the theatre resides.
National Black Touring Circuit Presents The Black History Month Play Festival, 2/8-24January 30, 2013The National Black Touring Circuit's Black History Month Play Festival 2013 will examine American history from anti-slavery Abolitionists to the emergence of the NAACP to the height of the civil rights movement through dramas on the lives of African American historic figures Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. DuBois and Adam Clayton Powell. Performances are in New York City theaters from February 8 - 24.
Armada Music Receives 18 Nominations at International Dance Music AwardsJanuary 30, 2013Dutch record company Armada Music has received no less than 18 nominations for this year's International Dance Music Awards. The four-times winner of the 'Best Global Record Label' award is once again in the running of prolonging their title. Maykel Piron, CEO and co-founder of Armada Music, is nominated for 'Best Record Label Executive' after receiving the awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Armin van Buuren, one of the co-founders of the label, received 10 nominations in 9 different categories.
THE LION KING Comes to Omaha, 3/12-4/7January 30, 2013Casting has been announced for the Omaha return engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING. Omaha's most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Orpheum Theater stage from Tuesday, March 12 ending Sunday, April 7, 2013. (The press opening night is Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m.) The show's five-week premiere engagement in 2007 played a sold-out run at the Orpheum.
