Seinfeld Directs SNL's Colin Quinn in One-Man Show, LONG STORY SHORT, 6/19 - 8/15June 1, 2010Former 'Saturday Night Live' cast member and writer Colin Quinn will return to the New York City scene when he debuts his new one-man show 'Long Story Short' directed by Jerry Seinfeld. The show will play a limited engagement at Bleecker Street Theatre (located at 45 Bleecker Street between Bowery and Lafayette Street) for eight weeks only with performances beginning Saturday, June 19th and playing through Sunday, August 15th.

Gary Coleman Dies of a Brain Hemorrhage at 42May 28, 2010Gary Coleman, most famous for his portrayal of Arnold Jackson on the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, died of a brain hemorrhage today at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center near his home in Utah. After suffering a head injury at his home on Wednesday, May 26, he was placed on life support, however, his condition deteriorated rapidly.
Van Dyck, Larson et al. Join Baldwin & Underwood in EQUUS, 6/8 - 7/13May 28, 2010As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Alec Baldwin is starring as the psychiatrist Martin Dysart in Peter Shaffer's Equus this summer at Guild Hall in East Hampton, N.Y. The production, which co-stars Sam Underwood and is directed by Tony Walton will run from June 8 - July 13 at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall. This will be Baldwin's first production at Guild Hall, of which he is a board member.

Aspects of Love previews from 07 July with press night on 15 July and is running until 26 September. Designs are by David Farley with choreography by Lynne Page, lighting by Paul Pyant, musical supervision by Caroline Humphris, orchestrations by David Cullen and sound by Gareth Owen. Trevor Nunn previously directed the world premiere of Aspects of Love and returns to the piece to direct this new intimate version.
HAIR to Bow Early in London Sept. 4May 28, 2010The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010.

Mariah Carey Bows Out of 'FOR COLORED GIRLS..' FilmMay 27, 2010People.com is reporting that Mariah Carey has pulled out of Tyler Perry's next film, FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF, which is also set to star revealed that Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray. Filming had been scheduled to begin in June. No reason has been given for the sudden withdraw. Cindi Berger, a rep for Carey merely stated that she is 'not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.' For many, this move fuels rumors that Carey may be pregnant, however, the songbird has been mum on the subject. No replacement possibilities for Carey have been announced.

Union Battles Intensify for Bway Dancer/Singer JurisdictionMay 27, 2010The Wall Street Journal reports today that battles between unions over jurisdiction for Broadway singers and dancers is intensifying. As BroadwayWorld reported earlier, the recent union dispute surrounding Broadway's COME FLY AWAY has caused American Guild of Musical Artists to try to play a bigger role in the Broadway community. Alan Gordon, AGMA exec director, expressed interest in representing dancers not ony in dance-heavy shows like COME FLY AWAY, but other productions as well. Gordon stated, 'We think that down the road it's better for dancers appearing in anything, including Broadway shows, to be represented by AGMA.'
