San Jose Rep presents God of Carnage, winner of the 2009 Tony Award® for Best Play. Written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton, this production makes its Bay Area Premiere at San Jose Rep from March 22 - April 15, 2012.

Negin Farsad, Amy Albert and Beth McGregor present the weekly standup show, Comedy School Dropout. In the grand tradition of East Village alternative rooms, Comedy School Dropout brings standup comics, the occasional comedy musical act, subversive duo, or threesomes to the stage for the price of zero dollars!

The Utah Shakespeare Festival recently announced more casting for its 2012 season. GROSS INDECENCY: THE THREE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE is directed by Producing Ensemble Director Stephen Weitz and features a cast of new and familiar BETC faces, including Michael Bouchard, Bob Buckley, Jim Hunt, Sam Sandoe, and Chip Persons as Oscar Wilde.

Leigh Fondakowski, Founding Member of Tectonic Theatre Project, will teach a three-day intensive workshop on 'Moment Work,' the approach to dramatic creation that has led to the company's award-winning work including Gross Indecency and The Laramie Project. In this workshop, students actively engage with the elements of the stage - exploring lights, sound, costumes, movement, text, architecture and more - to discover their full theatrical potential and the poetry inherent in each element. The workshop culminates in a presentation of the Moments created over the course of the weekend.

The Golden Ticket, American Lyric Theater's first opera commission - based on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - is being produced for the third time this winter. The Golden Ticket received its world premiere at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis in 2010, followed by its European premiere at Ireland's Wexford Festival. This month, ALT is partnering with The Atlanta Opera to present The Golden Ticket and is recording the performances for release on CD later this year.

Performing Arts Fort Worth's Children's Education Program, a free-of-charge arts program open to students in Fort Worth and surrounding areas, welcomed its millionth student to Bass Performance Hall today.

The 5th Avenue Theatre production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! has closed its doors, but the chant of "O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A" still rings through the theater's rehearsal space. Washington state teens are working on an all-state all-student production of this Golden Age staple as part of a brand new education program called The Oklahoma! Project.

Florida Studio Theatre and Bookstore1Sarasota will host Robert Pinsky, former United States Poet Laureate, and his community Favorite Poem Project on May 11 at 2:00pm at FST's Keating Theatre (1241 N. Palm Avenue in Downtown Sarasota). The event is part of FST's Sarasota Festival of New Plays, which celebrates the continued life of emerging playwrights, writers and poets over a two-month period every spring.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2011-12 season with The Whipping Man, a Civil War drama by Matthew Lopez, directed by the Rep's Artistic Director Eric Rosen. The Whipping Man runs March 16-April 8, 2012 at Spencer Theatre in the James C. Olson Performing Arts Center where the Rep is the professional theatre in residence.

New Edgecliff Theatre continues the Irish flair of its recent production of "St. Nicholas" with its Annual "Luck of the Irish" Casino Night from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday March 17. The world premiere of ETERNAL THOU will be presented at the Atwater Village Theatre from April 6 - 29, 2012. Written and directed by Matthew McCray (Artistic Director, Son of Semle Ensemble), ETERNAL THOU is an existential sci-fi drama that fuses performance and media to explore the relationship between the ever-evolving telecommunication industry, its gadgetry, and the public it attempts to serve.
