New York City Ballet Spring Gala to Feature Natalie Portman, Two World Premiere Ballets, 5/10March 8, 2012New York City Ballet announced today that its 2012 Spring Gala on Thursday, May 10 will feature a one-time-only salute to France titled À La Francaise, and will feature two World Premiere ballets, one by NYCB's Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins to a score by the French composer Marc-Andre Dalbavie; and one by French-born choreographer and former NYCB Principal Dancer Benjamin Millepied to a commissioned score by Nico Muhly. The evening will also include a major revival of George Balanchine's Symphony in C, which was created for the Paris Opera Ballet in 1947 to a score by the French composer Georges Bizet.

Known best as part of the male vocal group The Warblers from FOX's megahit TV show GLEE, Barnes and Mega will offer an interactive, cabaret-style evening with many special guests including Kimberly Whalen and Lauren Claire Chavez. Norah McGuinness Exhibition at Roscommon Arts Centre Opens March 15March 8, 2012Roscommon Arts Centre presents Norah McGuinness: Illustrations to the Stories of Red Hanrahan. This small exhibition of McGuinness' illustrations to William Butler Yeats' The Stories of Red Hanrahan and the Secret Rose (1905) will mark one of the very few times that these works have been exhibited publicly in many years. The suite of drawings has recently undergone some moderate conservation work, a project which was made possible under the Heritage Council Grants Programme and is brought to Roscommon Arts Centre in collaboration with The Model, Sligo.

Arctic Monkeys Open for Black Keys in New York, 3/22March 7, 2012Arctic Monkeys creative partnership with LA-based filmmakers Focus Creeps continues with the release of the "Black Treacle" video. "Black Treacle" - an instant fan favorite since the release of Suck It And See last year- is definitive Monkeys: verbose, witty and drenched in shimmering, languid guitars. The video, filmed in California last year, sees drummer Matt Helders reprising his role of devilish desert outlaw. The "Black Treacle" single will be released digitally on Jan 23rd and on 7-inch vinyl on Feb 21st. The single will be backed with the exclusive new track "You And I" by Richard Hawley and The Death Ramps, which was recorded and produced by Ross Orton.
