Following the success of the acclaimed premiere of Taylor Mac's THE WALK ACROSS AMERICAN FOR MOTHER EARTH last season, La MaMa in association with the Obie Award-winning theatre company The Talking Band will present Sidney Goldfarb's play HOT LUNCH APOSTLES at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.), with preview performances starting Thursday, March 1 prior to an official press opening set for Thursday, March 8.

Musical Theatre West announces that it will close its 59th consecutive season with the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT. MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT will preview on June 29, have a June 30 opening night and will run an additional 12 performances through July 15, 2012. It will be performed with the original Broadway sets and costumes and as with all Musical Theatre West productions, each show is created from the ground up at its rehearsal studios in Long Beach using a blend of both professional actors from Broadway, Hollywood and national tours, as well as the best in local talent.

Cornish Theater and Performance Production departments, present The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Intiman Playhouse. Join the denizens of London's Music Hall Royale, as they perform Charles Dickens' unfinished novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The audience is invited to solve the mystery themselves by choosing one of several ingenious resolutions. The only Broadway show in which the audience decides the ending, Drood won five Tony awards in 1986, including Best Score, Best Book and Best Musical.

A theatrical performance of the original drama SECRETS - The Untold Story of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, written and directed by Ken Wydro (co-writer and director of Mama, I Want to Sing: The Next Generation) will be presented in German for three performances only at the Mama Foundation for the Arts (located at 149 West 126th Street, between Lenox and Seventh Aves). Translated into German by Karin Eberhardt, SECRETS (or GEHEIMNISSE) will be performed on Friday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m. There will be a Q&A discussion with the author and the cast during a wine & snacks reception after each performance. Still as shocking and relevant as when it first premiered in post-war London, Look Back in Anger is a sharply funny, fiercely honest exploration of political disillusionment and basic human yearning. August Theater Productions announces a new screwball musical comedy, 'National Pastime', opening in August 2012 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

As the final of three mainstage productions during the two-month Eugene O'Neill Festival spearheaded by Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, Long Day's Journey into Night rounds out this celebration of O'Neill's life and work. The English-born and Canadian-based director and former Stratford Festival Artistic Director Robin Phillips makes his Arena Stage debut to direct his fourth production of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play in a theatrical career spanning more than 50 years.

The American Composers Orchestra (ACO) and Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University (CJS), in cooperation with The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, and EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, will present the second Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute (JCOI) in 2012 and 2013. The Institute will bring together up to 35 jazz composers at various stages in their careers, chosen from a national pool of applicants, to explore the challenges of writing for the symphony orchestra. Composers working in jazz, improvised, and creative music will be selected based on their excellent musicianship, originality, and potential for future growth in orchestral composition. Previous orchestral experience is not expected. The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday, April 16, 2012 at 5pm (EST).
