16-year-old New York singer-songwriter Ali Isabella made her global concert debut on February 26 at the International Festival of Country Music at Wembley Arena in London, England, the same day as her first CD, "Say You'll Be Mine," was released simultaneously in the UK and through iTunes and Amazon. This week (March 11 2012), one of the cuts on that album - "What If" - hit The Hotdisc Top 40 Chart in the #21 spot overall and #9 of the new releases.

As part of Performance Network's mission to promote new plays and the works of local playwrights, the theatre will premiere Joseph Zettelmaier's "Dead Man's Shoes," a darkly comedic Western tale of friendship and vengeance. This co-production, which is currently running at the Williamston Theatre in mid-Michigan, comes to Ann Arbor on March 8 and runs through April 8, 2012. It is directed by Performance Network Artistic Director, David Wolber and features Aral Gribble ("Man of La Mancha," "The Home Team"), Paul Hopper ("Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol"), Maggie Meyer and Drew Parker ("Marie Antoinette: The Color of Flesh").

Grammy nominated conductor Nicholas McGegan brings his artistic approach to the Pasadena Symphony in a concert of Mozart and Beethoven on March 31 at 2 and 8 pm at Ambassador Auditorium. RIOULT, an American modern dance company, announces their four-day 2012 NY Season at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, May 10-12, 2012 with a family matinee May 13, 2012. The Season features the World Premiere of Artistic Director/Choreographer Pascal Rioult's new work, inspired by T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land with a commissioned score by Grammy-Winning composer Joan Tower. The World Premiere will be performed at each performance to live musical accompaniment with Joan Tower at the piano, and cellist Raman Ramakrishnan. The program also includes RIOULT's Firebird (2003) and Celestial Tides, which captivated audiences at its premiere at The Joyce Theater in 2011.

Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer, and recording artist Leslie Uggams (On Golden Pond, King Headley II, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Anything Goes, Jerry's Girls, Hallelujah, Baby!) launched her new CD Uptown Downtown "Live at Barnes & Noble" before a standing room only crowd on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Ms. Uggams sang eight selections from her cast album, a two-CD set which contains 24 songs from her musical autobiography Uptown Downtown. She was accompanied by Don Rebic on piano, Steve Bargonetti on guitar, and Ray Kilday on bass. Following the performance Uggams also signed copies of her CD for her many fans.
