"The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" will open at the Plaza Hotel and Casino on Saturday, March 31. "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" is based on the true story of the legendary Texas brothel known as the Chicken Ranch. The risque musical chronicles how the town's sheriff and regular patron of the brothel fights to keep the historical whorehouse open as a crusading do-gooder television commentator seeks to close its doors.

The Trinity Film Festival at Cinestudio will be held on May 5, 2012 on the campus of Trinity College, and is now accepting submissions through April 13, 2012. Selected films will be judged by an eclectic panel of professional filmmakers, academics, and personalities, to be determined. There will be three substantial cash prizes and a high quality "mystery prize" awarded by the audience, which will be unveiled at a post-screening red carpet awards ceremony. Kirkland Arts Center presents the fourth installment of its biennial contemporary ceramics exhibition, Clay? IV, in conjunction with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts' (NCECA) 46th annual conference in Seattle, Washington. Clay? IV explores the versatility of clay as a medium of expression. Showcasing a range of sizes, scales, subject matter, and techniques, the artwork of this exhibition is both a testament to the enduring legacy of clay and to the future of the field. This international exhibition includes work by artists residing in Korea and twelve US states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Topdog / Underdog is the story of two brothers, abandoned by their parents as adolescents, Lincoln and Booth. Both feeling powerless, they find themselves competing for the topdog position. Lincoln, the older brother, is now divorced, and living with Booth in a seedy, dilapidated room in a boarding house. They have no running water, but they have plenty of liquor. The room is furnished without comforts and with minimal furniture, including milk crates and a sheet of cardboard that serves as the card table for Booth to practice his 3-card monte hustle.

Burning Coal Theatre Company will close its 15th season with the world premiere of Jude the Obscure, Parts 1 & 2 by Ian Finley, with music and lyrics by Thomas Hardy, Bruce Benedict, Jerome Davis and Jonathan Fitts. The production will run April 12 - May 5, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. David Zwirner presents an exhibition of new work by Stan Douglas, on view at 525 West 19th Street. Since he joined the gallery in 1993, Douglas has had ten solo exhibitions, including Midcentury Studio last year, which debuted a project created in the guise of a mid-twentieth century press photographer.

As part of an exclusive product integration, Martin Guitar and Strings will be the star of a new Broadway show, "Once", the musical based on the 2007 ACADEMY AWARD®-winning film of the same name. Emory's Schwartz Center for Performing Arts welcomes the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) on Thursday, April 12 at 8 p.m. Joining the ACO will be New Zealand opera star Teddy Tahu Rhodes. The concert program includes Mahler, Shostakovich, and modern composers such as Robert Saxton. Teddy Tahu Rhodes will performing Beethoven's An die ferne Geliebte and Richard Rodney Bennett's Songs Before Sleep.

Cirque des Voix, coming for the first time to Tampa Bay for two performances, Saturday, March 24, 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 25, 4 p.m., is a touring collaboration between Sarasota's Key Chorale and Circus Sarasota.
