With an ensemble of burlesque and sideshow performers, this benefit will help support the CIUSA. OSF's New Theatre to Get New NameMarch 16, 2012The Oregon Shakespeare Festival Board of Directors announced today the generous donation of $4.5 million from a group of donors comprised of The Goatie Foundation, Roberta and David Elliott, and Helen and Peter Bing.
The gift answers a challenge issued 10 years ago when Jo Lynn Allen of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, the lead donor for the construction of OSF's New Theatre, passed on the opportunity to name the theatre, issuing the requirement for other donors to make a significant contribution to secure the naming rights. The combined gift from the above group of donors meets the Allens' threshold, and gives them the naming rights.

Arts Flamenco Introduces Alegrias Tablao Performances in QueensMarch 16, 2012Arts Flamenco, a source for experiencing traditional flamenco culture and instruction in NYC, announced today that in addition to the weekly Saturday performances, a monthly performance would take place at Centro Español Theater in Astoria, Queens. La Nacional, NY's oldest Spanish Benevolent Society presenting Spanish cultural events (est'd 1868) has been hosting Alegrias, a weekly Saturday showcase for live Flamenco Theatre, since 2003. The addition of a second monthly showcase at the spacious Centro Espa?ol in Queens allows Arts Flamenco to increase availability and access to flamenco culture outside of Manhattan.
Touchstone Theatre Presents A RESTING PLACE, 4/13-15March 16, 2012Touchstone Theatre presents A RESTING PLACE, a new community-based play drawn from stories of Bethlehem citizens who lived during the Civil War. This outdoor theatrical experience features a cast of over a hundred performers and will be presented five times in five different outdoor venues around Bethlehem over the course of three days. There will also be auxiliary events including panel discussions and a guest lecturer following each performance.

TV: Meet the Cast and Creative Team of NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET ITMarch 19, 2012Two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick and three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara star in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. The production will begin performances on Broadway on Thursday, March 29, 2012 and officially open on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). The show is directed & choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall and features a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro.

FOX Cancels Katie Finneran's I Hate My Teenage DaughterMarch 15, 2012FOX's I Hate My Teenage Daughter, starring Katie Finneran, has been canceled, Entertainment Weekly reports. The comedy will play its final episode of the season on Tuesday, April 3. A recent episode of the show only garnered 3.6 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults aged 18-49. FOX may air the remaining episodes over the summer.
