SHIFT+SPACE | UPROAR BY MOYRA SILVA & CAROLINA RIECKHOF at Theatre Deli

Collaborative project between interdisciplinary Peruvian immigrant artists in the UK Carolina Rieckhof and Moyra Silva. Uproar explores how by making a collective noise our voices will come together and we will be able to spread, talk and share the struggles of communities away from our daily lives.

This project aims to make “noise” and resonate with the actual political crisis in Peru, which is a reflection of unattended colonialism issues: classism, discrimination and racism. The action of wearing, and activating sound garments is a ritual to heal and empathise with the injustice that Peruvians are living because of a dictatorial government.

The idea is to create pieces of garment that when in contact with each other, the way we move in them, and the sound they make together will generate a collective body and stronger sound/noise/voice.
