What is an artist without their inspiration? Can there even be life without art?
Disjointed portraits and crumbling canvases lie within this decaying studio. Artwork lost to time and hidden within is a memory. A faint picture, a feeling eroding wave by wave. A final chance for inspiration for a desperate artist.
Devised by Pending Theatre Company for their 2023 graduate showcase at London South Bank University, ‘The Art Of Drowning’ is an abstract and experimental immersive performance that brings the world of art to the stage. A visual explosion exploring struggles with loss, isolation and dedication to a craft. We invite you to follow ‘The Artist’, a collective form fighting to retain their artistic essence, influences and the memories that once led them on their creative journey. But time is running thin. Everything is getting redacted. Holding the question, can we remember when we are destined to forget?
