2025 AWARDS SEASON

The event will take place on June 1, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, with this year's nominations announced today, May 4, at Central Park.

The winners of the 2015 New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards will be announced tonight, May 4, 2015 at 6pm. The selections were made at the organization's 80th annual voting meeting, at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan. The awards will be presented at a private cocktail reception on Tuesday, May 19.

Jackson Langford and Jessica Ruettiger will represent Faith Conservatory of the Fine Arts at the 2015 Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards. The talented duo will perform at the event on Sunday, May 17 at The Smith Center, where they will go up against the Silver State's top talent for the chance to go to New York City, represent Nevada at the National High School Musical Theater Awards, participate in an intensive program, and perform at the 2015 JIMMY Awards.

The 71st Annual Theatre World Awards - the oldest award given for a debut theatre performance on or off-Broadway - will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036). The winners of this year's Theatre World Awards will be announced Tuesday, May 5.  The 2015 John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre will be presented to Chita Rivera. The 7th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence will also be presented to honor an Outstanding Performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.  Hosted annually by respected theater journalist, Peter Filichia, the awards ceremony is produced by the Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors.

Tickets for the seventh annual NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS will go on sale today, Friday, May 1 at 10:00AM.

On June 6th, designer and director Tony Walton will receive The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at Goodspeed Musicals' Gala event RAZZLE DAZZLE. Just announced, Julie Andrews will present Walton with the award at the event.

'I was asleep through the announcement today! Especially because I'm in New Orleans right now. I'm in a car on my way to the airport. I skipped out of town quickly because I wanted to recharge my batteries so I came down here to refuel and now I'm heading back to join what I'm sure is a really happy bunch of people. I'm possibly even more excited because so many of us are acknowledged. It underlines what a communal effort it is and such an extremely talented bunch of artists. I hope it means that people who haven't heard about it will at least look at the acknowledgements and say, "They must be doing something right!" I'm not saying that there wont be champagne on the flight back today! The absolute best way to celebrate is to tell our story tonight with these people who I've become so close to. It's the absolute best!'

'It is a honor to be nominated and to become a part of the grand tradition of American theatre. I am very lucky that I speak American! Albeit in the play with a very British accent. According to today's New York Post, the Tonys have tapped stage and screen stars Kristin Chenoweth (currently starring On the Twentieth Century) and Alan Cumming for the job.

It's a big day for Tony Awards news, less than 24 hours from tomorrow morning's nominations! The Tony Awards® Administration Committee hasjust  announced Stephen Schwartz as this year's recipient for the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award.

The Drama League has announced that the star of Broadway's smash production of Hand to God, Steven Boyer, 2015 Drama League Distinguished Performance nominee, will host the upcoming 81st Annual Drama League Awards, alongside his special guest Tyrone.  One of the high points of the season, the Drama League Awards Luncheon will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Official sponsors for the 81st Annual Drama League Awards include Delta Air Lines, the Official Airline of The Drama League; MAC Cosmetics, the Official Makeup Partner of The Drama League; National Life Group; and GenSpring Family Offices. The Tony Awards® Administration Committee has announced that John Cameron Mitchell will receive the 2015 Special Tony Award. "John's return to 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' is one for the history books. He not only wrote and co-created the role with Stephen Trask - before directing and starring in the film - but returned to Broadway to star as Hedwig this season after a series of rave performances by Neil Patrick Harris, Andrew Rannells and Michael C. Hall. This is a remarkable undertaking, and we are honored to recognize his outstanding success with this honor," Heather Hitchens, President of the American Theatre Wing, and Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League, said. John Cameron Mitchell's New York stage appearances included Broadway's Big River, and the original casts of The Secret Garden (Drama Desk nomination) and Six Degrees of Separation. Off-Broadway: Larry Kramer's The Destiny of Me (Obie Award and Drama Desk nom.) and Michael John LaChiusa's Hello Again (Drama Desk nom.). He adapted and directed Tennessee Williams' Kingdom of Earth starring Cynthia Nixon and Peter Sarsgaard and starred in and wrote the book for the 1998 Off-Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (directed by Peter Askin) for which he won an Obie Award along with co-creator/songwriter Stephen Trask. The film adaptation (2001) won him Best Director at Sundance and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.
