Very rapidly, over a few tens of thousands of years is a new play by Emma Watkins featured in the Fall 2024 First Light Festival at Ensemble Studio Theatre. Set aboard a research vessel in the Arctic Ocean on New Year's Eve 1976, the story revolves around a group of geologists confronting both personal and scientific mysteries, including impending mortality and procrastination. This poignant narrative explores themes of time, legacy, and human connection in unexpected circumstances. The festival runs from October 24 to December 12, showcasing a variety of innovative works in development.
