Animal Magnetism is a new musical exploring the life of Dr. Franz Anton Mesmer in the years leading up to the French Revolution. When Mesmer attempts to heal the bourgeoisie of Paris using an unseen force he dubs "animal magnetism," he inadvertently ignites a chaotic sexual frenzy among them. The creators include Chris Littler, who penned the book, and music and lyrics co-written with Ellen Winter, alongside additional lyrics by Kelly Tieger. The production is part of the 2024-25 Science and Technology Project at the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
