Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts has appointed Henry Timms. Timms brings with him a deep expertise in the arts and culture, digital, and non-profit sectors as the next President and Chief Executive Officer, Board Chair Katherine Farley announced today. Timms will join Lincoln Center in early May 2019.

The Drama League presents DirectorFest 2019: The 35th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States exploring the art of contemporary stage directing, now in its 35th year. MPTF and The Actors Fund announced today a collaboration to create Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions (EHIS), which will provide health insurance counseling services to members of the entertainment and performing arts community.  While the two organizations have worked together in supporting industry members through social services programs, EHIS is the first direct collaboration between MPTF and The Actors Fund. Health insurance specialists will be located at two Actors Fund locations, at the SAG-AFTRA Building and at I.A.T.S.E. Local 80 in Burbank, and at two MPTF locations in Woodland Hills and MPTF offices in Burbank. EHIS offers comprehensive, unbiased, one-on-one health insurance counseling, enrollment, and referrals for industry members and their families.

Following the launch of a strike yesterday, members of Actors' Equity association, the national labor union for professional stage managers and actors in live theatre, have hit the streets, asking audiences to join Equity's fight for a stronger Lab Agreement with the Broadway League. Today Equity members greeted ticket buyers outside the Broadway TKTS location and asked them to join the #NotALabRat campaign. Audience members who supported the campaign were given one of Equity's #NotALabRat buttons to wear into their shows.
