CONTRACT
LOA LOA/LORT. Minimum - $478/wk
SEEKING
Equity actors of any ethnicity who are strong singers and dancers - all actors will be considered for roles in both productions.
PREPARATION
Actors should prepare a 16- to 32-bar cut of a Sondheim song, or a pop/R&B song (ala Whitney, Beyonce, etc.) and bring relevant sheet music. You may be asked to sing an additional contrasting song of your choosing, so please bring your book.

Stephen Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical masterpiece is a living painting by artist Georges Seurat, and centers on the artist as he discovers unimaginable possibilities while creating an enduring work of art. Seurat, known for juxtaposing points of multi-colored paint to allow the viewer’s eye to blend the colors, connects the dots that make life so passionate, unexpected, heartbreaking, and ultimately rapturous. The live, onstage orchestra brings the radiant score about the art of making art – and love – soaring to brilliant life with “tension, composition, balance, light, and harmony.” The gift of this musical is that the people who are the most different from us, may be the persons who illuminate ourselves to ourselves, and hold the key to our heart.
Sunday In The Park With George rehearsals begin April 30, 2018. Performances begin May 30, 2018, and closes on June 24, 2018, with shows Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sundays at 2:30pm.

Old Lady (Female, 60 to 80, Vocal range Eb5 - F#3): George's mother. A cranky and rather demanding fixture in the park. She is able to find solace in nostalgia, and inspires George to find order in his art. Optional Doubling as BLAIR DANIELS.
Nurse (Female, 40 to 60, Vocal range F4 - G3): The Old Lady's attendant. She is calming and assertive. Optional Doubling as HARRIET PAWLING.
Jules (Male, 25 to 45, Vocal range F4 - G2): A rival artist. Callous, critical, and ultimately shallow. He forces Frieda to engage in extramarital affairs. Optional Doubling as BOB GREENBERG.
Yvonne (Female, 25 to 35, Vocal range Eb5 - E3): Jules' pampered wife. She is as snippy and snooty as her husband. Optional Doubling as NAOMI EISEN.
Boatman (Male, 35 to 60, Vocal range Eb4 - Eb2): A surly blue-collared laborer, simple-minded and slovenly. Optional Doubling as CHARLES REDMOND.
Celeste #1 (Female, 18 to 30, Vocal range G5 - B3): A young shop girl, gossipy and flirtatious. Her friendship with the other Celeste is strained when they fight over the Soldier and his companion. Optional Doubling as A WAITRESS.
Celeste #2 (Female, 18 to 30, Vocal range top: G5 - A3): Another young shop girl, gossipy and flirtatious. Her friendship with the other Celeste is strained when they fight over the Soldier and his companion. Optional Doubling as ELAINE.
Louise (Female, 8 to 12, Vocal range Eb5 - G3): Jules and Yvonne's spoiled little girl. She faces neglect and abuse from her parents, despite being honest. Optional Doubling as BOY.
Franz (Male, 30 to 50, Vocal range G4 - B2): Jules's German coachman and Freida's husband. Disgruntled with his job. Has a bit of a temper and secretly yearns for the Nurse. Optional Doubling as DENNIS.
Frieda (Female, 35 to 55, Vocal range F5 - G3): Jules and Yvonne's cook and Franz's wife. Caring and positive as a surrogate nanny to Louise. Forced by Jules into an affair. Optional Doublings include BETTY and YOUNG MAN.
Soldier (Male, 20 to 35, Vocal range F4 - A2): A French military man, polite and gentlemanly. Close with his companion, though he yearns for a separation. Optional Doubling as ALEX.
Louis (Male, 35 to 55, Vocal range A4 - B2): A baker who Dot starts seeing to make George jealous. Kind, friendly, and very popular, but a bit dull. Optional Doublings include BILLY WEBSTER and MAN.
Ensemble Roles: Character ages 20s-40s, any ethnicity. Strong singers and actors.

For the 4th year in a row, Austin’s most rockin’ holiday tradition returns to make merry with a new music to get the party started! ZACH’s inspired adaptation of the Dickens’ classic is a musical sleigh ride through rhythm and time, infusing the traditional Victorian story with a musical score that spans all genres and eras. Motown meets the HoHoHolidays in this family celebration, creating an infectious spirit that has everyone dancing in the aisles. Join the loving Cratchit family and three soulful ghosts as they take Ebenezer Scrooge on a joyride to miraculous transformation, as he rediscovers his heart and love for human kindness.
A Christmas Carol rehearsals begin October 25, 2017. Performances begin November 22, 2017, and closes on December 31, 2017, with shows Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sundays at 2:30pm, and some added Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30pm.

Adult Ensemble: There are over 25 roles in this play, and members of the Ensemble will also double as Townspeople, Party Guests, Carolers, Vendors, etc.
