Breakdown
Frederik:
40s-50’s, baritone, a successful lawyer currently undergoing a mid-life crisis. Both emotional and intellectual. Strong libido.
Count Carl Magnus:
30s, baritone, a dashing military man. Handsome, haughty, full of himself.
Countess Charlotte:
30s, alto, dry, sarcastic. Hopelessly in love with her husband, despite his infidelity. Elegant and put together.
Anne:
Early 20s, soprano, Fredrik’s new, pretty, virgin wife. Scared of having sex but is subconsciously attracted to Henrik. Girlish and naive.
Henrik:
Early 20s, tenor, Angsty, broody and intellectual. Takes himself and his pain very seriously. Tries to suppress his roiling passion for Anne.
Madame Armfeldt:
Late 60s-early 70s, alto, imperious, wealthy, old-school and formal but also romantic and spiritual. Used to be a real looker.
Petra:
20s, alto/belt, Anne’s saucy maid. Sexy and she knows it.
The role of Desiree has been CAST. Those auditioning may also be considered for possible replacements if needed.
