Friday's all-new “Sofia the First” ranked as the series' #1 original telecast on record in Total Viewers (2.95 million) and placed among its Top 5 to date in Kids 2-5 (983,000/6.1 rating), Girls 2-5 (663,000/8.5 rating) and Women 18-49 (516,000/0.8 rating). The telecast saw royal butler Baileywick (played by Tim Gunn) insist on helping Sofia on her Buttercup troop outing, but she sets out to prove that she is capable of doing things for herself. Viola Davis (“The Help”) guest starred as the Buttercup troop leader.

Discovery's SHARK WEEK 2013 broke all viewership records in the 26 year history of SHARK WEEK on Sunday August 4 with the premiere of Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives which earned a 2.60 P25-54 and 4.8 million total viewers P2+ delivery. This stands as the highest rated and most watched SHARK WEEK episode to date. Additionally, Megalodon was up 141% in the Persons 25-54 demo vs. the same time period in 2012. Shark After Dark, SHARK WEEK's first-ever late-night talk show earned a 1.18 P25-54 and 2.1 million viewers P2+ delivery. Hosted by Comedian Josh Wolf with special guests that included actor Dominic Monaghan, Shark After Dark was up 62% in the P25-54 demo vs. last year's SHARK WEEK Sunday 11p airing.

Discovery Channel's limited summer series premiere of GOLD RUSH: SOUTH AMERICA was the #1 cable program in Prime among Persons and Men 25-54 delivery (no exclusions) and #2 in ALL OF TELEVISION among Men 25-54 and Men 18-49 delivery (no exclusions) on Friday, August 2. The series earned a 1.64 HH/1.26 P25-54 rating and delivered 2.4 million viewers P2+, beating several broadcast television series including: ABC's 20/20' and 'Would You Fall for That?' and NBC's 'Dateline.'
