Stephen Sorokoff

Stephen is also the cabaret/ music and co-theatre editor of the Times Square Chronicles. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music. Besides being a pianist, Stephen’s business career was in the Fashion Industry. He was CEO of a textile manufacturing facility and President of an international textile machinery company. Stephen was on the Board of Directors of the “First All Children’s Theatre” which brought the Stephen Schwartz musical The Trip and Captain Louie to the Kennedy Center in Wash DC. His wife Eda, an interior space designer and classical pianist is Board Emeritus at Board of Barrington Stage Company and is still active at BSC. Stephen’s articles and photographs, appear on Broadwayworld.com, Times Square Chronicles where is is the music editor.  He is a voting member of the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association. Peter LeDonne and Jamie deRoy were again broadcasting from Patsy's Restaurant and this weeks guests included Collin Kelly- Sordelet the 19 year old Montclair, NJ resident who plays Tom & Young Gideon in Sting's new Broadway musical THE LAST SHIP. Also on the program was Manny Kladitis, the founder and president of Niko Companies LTD, a group of theatrical and management Companies. After Jamie deRoy gave her run down of upcoming night life in NYC there was some serious "pillow talk" with the famous Mike Lindell the inventor of "My Pillow". Peter & Jamie were wide awake for his interview having noted they slept on a "My Pillow" the night before and were very well rested.

It will have its world-premiere at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Previews begin Thursday Nov. 6 prior to an official opening which is set for Sunday, Nov. 23. The production will play a limited 7- week engagement through Dec. 21.

Last night at the Austrian Cultural Forum on 52nd Street a play by the most performed present day author in the German language was presented. Gabriel Barylli who was born in Vienna and works as an author, director and actor all over Europe was on stage to introduce his work called Butterbrot in German, which has had more than 150 productions throughout German speaking countries.

The Gold Coast International Film Festival began its seven-day run on Nov. 3rd. It will feature more than 40 short films, art films foreign films and appearances by filmmakers. It was a spectacular display of guitar playing as the symmetry of notes between father and son(s), with Martin on bass is a unique listening experience.

The American Society of the University of Haifa held it's 2014 Gala at the American Museum of Natural History last night. Jamie deRoy was the Master of Ceremonies and introduced Ambassador Ido Aharoni,Consul General of Israel who spoke, as well as other dignitaries from the University. At the podium were Yariv Sultan VP, Professor Alfred I. Tauber, Chairman Board of Governors, and Yefet Ozery National Executive Director of ASUH. Sandra Frankel represented the Leona M. and Harry B Helmsley Charitable Trust was presented a Carmel Award of Merit by Leon H. Charney. Audrey Gruss was also presented a Carmel Award which was presented by Professor Alfred I. Tauber. There was a musical performance by Israeli artists Guy Mintus, pianist/compser and opera singer Maya Yahav Gour.

Sabrina Wender and Egidiana Maccioni were the women. The wine and food are legendary and the music on Mondays is always a perfect fit for the elegant and happy atmosphere at Le Cirque cafe. It's a special treat when Sabrina, who happens to be married to one of the Maccioni sons is the musical attraction for the evening. She adds her sophisticated European jazz vocals to the line up of performers who appear on Musical Mondays. Egidiana, who happens to be married to Sirio was coaxed to sing and that made the evening an extra special Le Cirque Musical Monday.
