Horizon Theatre Company will present two holiday-themed shows this December, The Santaland Diaries by NPR writer and commentator David Sedaris, and Madeline's Christmas, based on the children's book by Ludwig Bemelmans.

Basement Arts, a student-run theatre organization in cooperation with the University of Michigan, will kick off it's 2012-2013 season with David Auburn's Proof, directed by Mickey Byrne.

Tickets are now on sale for Lord of the Dance at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Created by Michael Flatley, Lord of the Dance is selling out arenas and theatres as the world's highest grossing Irish dance show. The tour arrives in the Triangle at DPAC on March 10, 2012.

Folk-rock singer/songwriter Sierra West is celebrating her 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) nomination for her song and title track to her new EP, 'Hold Your Fire." Sierra and other nominees will be honored at the ceremonies that will take place in Hollywood on November 15, 2012. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe.

As part of the sixth edition of Crossing the Line 2012, FIAF's annual transdisciplinary festival of contemporary arts, the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) presents 4 Prepared Dreams, by Crossing the Line 2012 artist-in-residence Joris Lacoste. 4 Prepared Dreams explores hypnosis as an artistic medium with four seminal New York artists: singer-songwriter April March; Obie Award-winning director and writer Annie Dorsen; filmmaker/composer/musician Tony Conrad; and filmmaker Jonathan Caouette, and will be presented in FIAF's Le Skyroom from Wednesday, October 10 through Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8pm.

To mark John Cage's centennial year, Symphony Space is proud to present the composer's rarely-heard 1989 conceptual work 'How to Get Started' in a series of three performances by pairs of noted musicians and writers who know each other well. Author Oscar Hijuelos and bandleader Arturo O'Farrill take the stage on Thursday, November 1; playwright Wallace Shawn and his composer sibling Allen Shawn perform on Thursday, November 15; and poet Robert Pinsky joins singer-songwriter John Wesley Harding on Thursday, December 13.

The Hunter College East Harlem Art Gallery presents 'Jorge Pineda: Shadows and Other Fairy Tales' from September 28 through December 28, 2012. The documentary 'A Year With Armin van Buuren' chronicles one year of the roaring life of the world famous Dutch DJ and producer. James Braly's LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION has been announced as one of the closing night shows of the upcoming New York Comedy Festival. The critically acclaimed one-man show, written and performed by This American Life contributor James Braly, returns to New York City from its national tour for the first time since its sold-out Off-Broadway run. The special performance on November 11, 2012 at Stage 72 (formerly the Triad Theatre) will be followed by a talk-back with producer Meredith Vieira.

American Ballet Theatre's Opening Night Gala at New York City Center on Tuesday, October 16 will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Agnes de Mille's Rodeo with a special tribute to the ballet's premiere. ABT's Opening Night Gala will also include performances of Mark Morris's Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, a pas de deux from James Kudelka's Cruel World, and the Company premiere of the pas de deux from George Balanchine's Stars and Stripes.

BAAD! - The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance - begins its fall season with the BlakTinx Performance Series from October 5 through November 16, 2012.
