Frist Fridays, the Frist Center?s popular summer concert series, kicks off May 29, 2009 with special musical guest Danielle Peck performing live in the Turner Courtyard. Now in its seventh year, the series, which this year takes place the final Friday evening of each month May through July from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., is one of Nashville?s most popular summer traditions, attracting visitors of all ages from Middle Tennessee and beyond. The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis will produce the world premiere of Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley?s The Zippers of Zoomerville, or 200 Laps and a Lass: a mini-mockeretta in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix May 7 through June 6, 2009. The book and lyrics are by Jack O?Hara, and the music is by Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley. Jack O'Hara is a Nashville (IN) based writer, musician, comedian, actor, and director. In The Zippers of Zoomerville he has written a gentle send-up of all things Indy 500 -- but also a gentle send-up of all things Gilbert & Sullivan.

The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden invites New Yorkers to bring along their sense and sensibility, as well as their pride and prejudice for an evening of Jane Austen appreciation on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:00 PM. Taking place in the Museum's beautiful garden, the Essential Jane Austen will be hosted by internationally-acclaimed Austen lecturer Elsa Solender, who will speak about the writer's life, her works and her popularity with both 19th-century and modern audiences.
