Frist Fridays, the Frist Center?s popular summer concert series, kicks off May 29, 2009 with special musical guest Danielle Peck performing live in the Turner Courtyard. Now in its seventh year, the series, which this year takes place the final Friday evening of each month May through July from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., is one of Nashville?s most popular summer traditions, attracting visitors of all ages from Middle Tennessee and beyond. Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center welcomes the return of American Ballet Theatre (ABT), America?s National Ballet Company®, led by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie, to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, July 16-19, with its full-evening production of Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Romeo and Juliet. MacMillan's masterful interpretation of Shakespeare's enduring romantic tragedy entered American Ballet Theatre?s repertoire in 1985 and has since become one of the Company?s signature productions. Against the sumptuous setting of Renaissance Italy, MacMillan weaves a dance tapestry rich in character nuance and sensuality, and Sergei Prokofiev's stirring music underscores the lyric beauty and passion of this beloved ballet's star-crossed lovers.

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis will produce the world premiere of Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley?s The Zippers of Zoomerville, or 200 Laps and a Lass: a mini-mockeretta in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix May 7 through June 6, 2009. The book and lyrics are by Jack O?Hara, and the music is by Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley. Jack O'Hara is a Nashville (IN) based writer, musician, comedian, actor, and director. In The Zippers of Zoomerville he has written a gentle send-up of all things Indy 500 -- but also a gentle send-up of all things Gilbert & Sullivan.

Celebrate St. Paul! The SPFA represents: Cinco De Mayo Fiesta, Flint Hills International Children's Festival, Grand Old Day, Saint Paul Sommerfest, Dragon Festival, Highland Fest?, Rice Street Festival, Irish Fair of Minnesota, Rheinfest on the Mississippi, Winter Carnival, PABA Fest, St. Paul Oktoberfest, Rondo Days and the White Bear Avenue Parade. These festivals bring nearly 1 million attendees to the St. Paul/East Metro area each year, and proceeds from these St. Paul Festivals are reinvested in the community.

David Parker and the Bang Group, a nationally renowned New York dance company, will visit Northwestern University?s Evanston campus for a weeklong residency April 26 to May 3. The group will be co-hosted by the School of Communication?s Dance Program and the New Movement Project, a student group that organizes campus dance events.

This Ibsen classic gets a very urban Wellington make over, and the cast look all set to explode with their adaptation of this mean classic play.

MGC Productions is pleased to announce that Broadway Speaks OUT will be coming back to The Duplex on Monday April 20th for an all star concert. The evening will feature Marissa Perry (Hairspray), Jay A. Johnson (Hair, Chorus Line Tour) Donell James Foreman (Mamma Mia Tour), Anthony Hollock (Hair), Lauren Elder (Hair), and Justin Stoney. The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden invites New Yorkers to bring along their sense and sensibility, as well as their pride and prejudice for an evening of Jane Austen appreciation on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:00 PM. Taking place in the Museum's beautiful garden, the Essential Jane Austen will be hosted by internationally-acclaimed Austen lecturer Elsa Solender, who will speak about the writer's life, her works and her popularity with both 19th-century and modern audiences. Ms. Solender is an independent scholar, professor and a past President of the Jane Austen Society of North America. Following the lecture, there will be a question and answer session and a reception with light refreshments.

Aristophanes' Lysistrata is set to be performed at the Martin Recital Hall from April 17 at 7:30 pm, April 18 at 7:30 pm, and April 19 at 3:00 pm. The show is translated by Nicholas Rudall and is directed by Mark Hardiman. General admission tickets are $15 ($5 for students).
