Casa Mañana is excited to announce a new student discount program that offers students, as well as faculty and staff, preview nights and rush tickets for all Broadway shows at Casa Mañana Theatre for the 2009 - 2010 Best of Broadway season. Both student offers are $10 with a valid school ID, limit one per person.

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center, will host a special VIP event on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7:00 p.m., featuring an exclusive appearance by Gregory Maguire, author of the bestselling novel Wicked, and a special performance by Megan Hilty, reprising her role as Glinda, with Broadway guests singing your favorite songs from the Tony Award-winning musical inspired by the book. This will be Gregory Maguire's only appearance in California this year.

On Sunday, October 18, at 1 and 3 pm, that path leads directly to Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, as Enchantment Theatre Company brings Harold's creative journey to life as part of the Jorgensen Children's Series, supported by Bank of America.

The Garden Theatre announces that the first Community Meeting in preparation for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 10am-12noon at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). The meeting will cover general show information on auditions and crew opportunities. All ages and experience levels are invited and encouraged to attend. Community members who are interested in being a crew team leader, should bring a technical resume. More meetings will be scheduled leading up to the production.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) kicks off its 2009/10 Subscription Series with Artistic Director Barbara Gaines' staging of Richard III, one of Shakespeare's most enduring successes. Richard, the brilliant hunchback and witty manipulator, seduces and murders his way to the English throne in the Bard's epic history of this most fascinating and engaging villain.

Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, Florida is set to host the American Chamber Players on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. (Fred Rogers Family Series) and Sunday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. (Visiting Artists Series).

Circle Theatre, a professional, regional theatre company in Sundance Square, opened Picasso at the Lapin Agile, by Steve Martin, on September 26, at 8:00pm.

The Triad Theatre (158 W. 72nd Street) will host Bawdy!, a raucous evening of Burlesque, Variety, Drag, and knock-your-socks-off production numbers. Hosted by the fishnet clad baritone Jesse Luttrell, Bawdy! will be held on October 1st from 9:00pm-10:30pm. Special guests include Poor Baby Bree, Poppi Kramer, and the devilish Bawdy Dancers, plus the burlesque talents of Layla Lepore, Jewel Reebox, Krystal Charms, Ria Rhinestone and Erin Gellgems.

The Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre is set to hold the musical auditions workshop, Preparing and Performing a Musical Audition. Given by Michael Tan (Musical Director, Vocal Coach, Accompanist), the workshop will be held at the theatre on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Silver-screen wit collides with behind-the-scenes lunacy in Once in a Lifetime, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's classic screwball spoof of Hollywood. Edward Asner and Jonathan Silverman head the cast when L.A. Theatre Works records five performances for radio broadcast, directed by the co-author's multiple award-winning son, Christopher Hart, at the Skirball Cultural Center October 21- 25. L.A. Theatre Works' nationally syndicated radio theater series airs weekly, broadcasting locally in Southern California on KPCC 89.3 and streaming on demand at www.latw.org.

HART (Hillsboro Artists Regional Theatre) continues its 15th season with a production of the nostalgic hit Forever Plaid. The show opens on Friday, October 16 and runs through November 15th with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2pm. With this 2009-2010 season, HART has a new start time for all of their evening shows of 7:30pm.

Boiler Room Theatre is set to hold an open call for their production of The Last Night of Ballyhoo. An open call will be held at the theatre (230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, Franklin) beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. No monologue required; all auditioning will read from the script. Canta Y No Llores (Sing and Don't Cry), an original, bilingual celebration of the Day of the Dead hits the Milagro Theatre from October 30 - November 15, 2009. Canta Y No Llores was created by Martin Milagro, directed by Olga Sanchez and sponsored by El Hispanic News.

Spotlight Theatre Productions is set to hold auditions on Sunday, October 4th from 2pm - 5pm and Monday, October 5 from 7:30pm - 8:30pm for their fall musical comedy Nunsense - the Mega Musical Version.

Page 73 Productions (Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Executive Directors) and New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director) will present the world premiere of Heidi Schreck's riveting new play "Creature," directed by Leigh Silverman. This Off Broadway engagement will be performed at the Ohio Theatre, 66 Wooster Street (between Spring and Broome Streets). Previews begin on Tuesday, October 27, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. Performances will run through November 21.

Riverdance, the thunderous celebration of Irish music, song and dance that has tapped its way onto the world stage thrilling millions of people around the globe, will play eight farewell performances at The Buell Theatre November 24-29.
